Super 8
7.5/10
I actually really really liked this one. Although the style is VERY spielberg, it's still surprisingly ok. Good story and they didn't go the way of "build up a lot of tension and then don't show the monster so CGI budget is low".

A Prophet
8/10
Very good prison story about a guy who goes into prison. Really liked this one, I felt something for the character.

Adjustment Bureau
6/10
Promising beginning but halfway through when the supernatural stuff started happening I lost interest. Although it is a love movie at heart, the ending was rather half assed and a lot of tension for tension's sake which I don't like.

Your Highness
6/10
Stoner movie which I wasn't high when watching. It's a mock medieval movie but it was still rather ok. A lot of ass, tits, Zoey and Nat and enough CGI action for it to be something.

Xmen first class
8.5/10
Characters were great. Story was alright. The difficult thing is where do they go from here. I really wish they'd bring in some of the heavyweights like cable, apocalypse, onslaught etc. There's a lot of material in the marvel universe to work with so they really should aim high.

2001 A Space Odyssey
8/10
Very very mindfuck movie what the fuck did I just watch. Nice shots and good music.

Blitz
6/10
Bah.... this really had potential with the whole nitty gritty feel, but halfway through it just went comically ridiculous and the ending was bad. Jason Statham plays himself again.

The Big Lebowski
9/10
Hahaha first time watching it I thought it was alright. Second time watching it it was fucking hilarious. This is some gold stuff right here. Far out man.

HP Prisoner of Azkaban
6/10
Meh.... finally got round to watching it, just another HP movie... still nothing compared to the books.
Yea that looks just like Kang Min... amazing game sense... and uses mind games well, but has the micro of a washed up progamer.

I recently watched "Insidious", a horror movie made by James Wan(who also made Saw, Paranormal Activity etc), and my god was it awesome. This was the first horror movie to actually creep me out in what... 4 years? This movie is a must see!

Lol, watched that movie a few weeks ago. And my god was is awfull. I had to laugh all the time. Which is not the point of a horror movie. The story is just stupid and that woman with the gasmask.... I couldnt stop laughing.

I wont give it any rating but I can say I was positively surprised at how good this movie actually was.

excellent but very brutal, violent movie. At first it appears to be a senseless concatenation of violent scences, you are shocked and dont get the sense of all this brutality. In the end all becomes clear, the puzzle fits itself together and you will rejoice at the pain inflicted previously. Dont watch alone, havent seen anything close to this in terms of brutality. The violence/atmossphere is mostly raw, ugly and filthy nothing is candy coated.

the last movie I watched was paranormal activity 2, which was not that awesome...

but guys, I have an urgent request: some time ago I watched a horror movie which was absolutely ridiculous, but I forgot the title. It sounded very generic like "dark forest" or "black forest" or something (but apparently not, i cant find ich anywhere). It was about someone being put into a black box or something when he was a child and him having crazy hallucinations...also there was this bad guy who just looked hilarious with his hair stacked up 1 meter or something ...the movie was a real horror movie and not supposed to be funny (I guess), but it made me laugh so hard

does anyone know which movie im talking about??? would really appreciate it

Scream 4.

4 out of 10.

Very bad acting, predictable plot and so unrealistic it's just very, very sad. Did not expect that Carpenter would make such a bad movie. A waste of money.

And extra lol for Courtney Cox, she has so much botox in her face she can't even smile.

this movie has probably the longest rape scene in any movie (which is not some kind of stupid snuff bullshit) The crazy thing about Irreversible is that the plot is being narrated backwards so it starts off with someone killing someone else in the most brutal way to avenge his girlfriend, who has been raped. The thing is that this produces no cathartic effect this way and it seems just like some random brutal murder. Only later does this brutal murder seem justified...

Student Services.

A French movie about a college girl and her method of paying for her first year of college.

No rating. You should watch the movie if you watch the trailer and find the premise interesting.

Wild Strawberries (Ingmar Bergman): A very heartfelt film about an old man who is jovial on the outside but cold and hard on the inside. Through the course of a single day, he realizes (perhaps too late) the mistakes that he has made in his life, and how it has affected his family. The film resonated with me as the main character reminded me of my own grandfather.

Alphaville (Jean Luc Godard): A sci-fi noir where a hard-boiled secret agent infiltrates a society run by a computer which cares only about logic. Citizens who show excessive emotion are re-educated or executed.

I was very interested to see what Godard would do with a sci-fi setting, but was not as impressed as I'd hoped. There were some good poetic moments, but the film lacked any real suspense or action, which are things I want in a setting/genre like this. Also, the ultimate conclusion that love conquers all is somewhat trite, despite being well executed. Worth watching but definitely not my favorite of Godard's films.

My Night At Maud's (Eric Rohmer): An intriguing look at the life and decisions of a young catholic man in France. It centers around the titular night spent at a woman(Maud)'s house, where the protagonist, his old friend, and Maud spend a good deal of time discussing their varying philosophies and moralities. The main character has his morality tested when his old friend leaves the him alone to spend the night with Maud.

I enjoyed the film a lot, because I am a fan of films where dialog is the focal point. In the end, I was left with a lingering sense of regret as the main character's old fashioned values (which are very different from my own) lead him down a totally different path from what I had hoped. Having a film affect me like that is a good thing. In this case, it made me evaluate what it is that guides us in the decisions we make in our lives.
It's easier not to.

The Room
lol / 10

I've never laughed so much in a drama movie. Must see if you like movies that make you wonder whether or not the comedy was supposed to be in it (Evil Dead, Vampire Kiss, etc)

Cowboys and Aliens - its okay
Inception - FAN-FUCKING-TASTIC!!!!
Taken - Great
Repo The Genetic Opera - This is a fantastic opera. Now before people ignore this, it's a rock opera with tons of blood and Paris Hiltons face falls off (this should make you go see it)

Today watched

"I Saw The Devil"

and

"The Chaser"

Both films based around serial killers. ISTD was a much more obvious exploitation type film and I was unimpressed with the plot and the message of the film. It was quite entertaining until the end where it dragged on far too long and became very predictable. The violence is intense and I would go as far to say the film is disturbing.

The Chaser was an amazing film. The cinematography is excellent and the way action is portrayed is very unstylized and believable. A good example is the chase scene about a quarter of the way into the film which consists of several long shots and you can see the actors slowing down and becoming very tired as they run, they are not superhuman nor are stunt men made of much use. This is good. There are no explosions or anything of that sort. The violence is intense but it isn't overdone or ridiculous like in ISTD. The suspence in the film is VERY well done and there are some moments in the movie where I found myself covering my mouth or gripping the arms of my seats feeling like my chest was going to burst waiting for the outcome. This isn't an extremely original movie but I'd say the execution is basically perfect.
