Doesn't work since some of the book is left out and some of the show features thins perhaps later in the series but drawn back a bit or expanded upon. You can just never be safe enough for a spoiler not to happen.
well apparently a lot of people do want to compare books and tv show, and they fear to go to the anything goes spoiler thread for whatever reason. So they end up here, because theres no where else to go.

It's not that hard to just treat this show as if there was never any book to talk about.

it's really not. just handing out bans until people learn is the way to go I think.

Or perhaps moderator to confirm all posts in this thread. Maybe after you click "post" you get warning "if you post spoilers from the book you get 30 day banned" before post is shown.

because to me and a lot of other people that havent finished the books its like walking a tightrope. You have to be super careful with what you say here to not spoiler and if you go to the spoiler book thread you might stumble upon spoilers for book 5. Yes, and then we need a thread for people who have just finished book 4 but not book 5. And while were are at it another 3 for people who are just over the middle of each upcoming book / season.
Just read faster
In general a number of mods watch this thread continuously, so the time spoilers are live here is really really low I think.

It is on Season 3 and people can't avoid the spoils yet. I've read them and I like to read this topic to see the conclusions, but I avoid to comment anything about it because most of the times readers think something that happened in the show that actually only happened in the books.

Some people in this thread... Seriously, im going back and searching through the past 20 pages, people with 2 or more way too suspicious replies gonna get reported. I'm 100% sure about 1 guy, and 90% about another, but i need some proof.

lol, even on sites dedicated to ASOIAF, discussion threads are not enforced by scope in terms of spoilers.
Sorry brah, it's all or none. I think it's better for you if you only hang out here and just talk about the show. It's better than the books anyway. =)

^ Blasphemy!
Anyway, i really liked the third episode, altough the Pod filler was a filler, which fills my heart with a bit of rage. But the rest was really good

There's another thread for people who want to discuss the show and the books together. This isn't it.

you think some people are pretending to be watching just the tv show when they really have read all the book? That's pretty damn evil trolling if they are spoiling things under the guise of "i havnt read the books"

You're preaching to the choir man. I'm just advising this guy to post here and talk only about the show.

There is a huge spoiler 2 pages back, I am done reading this topic.

Anyways, is it supposed to be implied that Pod didn't actually have sex, and just took the money and ran? I thought Tyrion figured it out, but then he sat Pod down and made me not so sure anymore. Its implied Pod did have sex. The two possibilities are then: -the whores didn't take the money because he was too cute -the whores where paid in advance by Tyrion but to make Pod feel better he made Pod believe the whores genuinely didn't take the money. The second possibility makes no sense though; why would he want to make Pod feel like he was a god in bed, after already giving him 3 whores? Also, why would any of the 3 whores deny themselves MORE money, seeing as Pod had no idea he was supposed to take the money back to Tyrion? It's not like Tyrion can just be like "what the fuck, they didn't give me my money back? Let's get those assholes!" It's just more likely he gave him the 3 whores as an actual gift with the money rather than make Pod feel like a monster in bed because the whores gave him his money back even though he isn't. Also, he has experienced the same feeling from his dad Tywin with that old whore of his; why would he want to put Podrick in the exact same situation he faced and was left with nothing but the medicine of ale and the therapy of whores?
How does it makes no sense ? It makes Pod feel as if he was so good that they don't ask for the money. Looks pretty sensical to me. For his first time... builds confidence you know ? Instead of just being an average customer.
Why would they deny money ? Because they were asked not to take it ?
Also this is not the same thing as what happened to Tyrion... (Not wanting to say more, can't remember what exactly was said in the TV series). Also, Tyrion is a dwarf while Pod is a cute boy; even if he know about the deception, it wouldn't shatter his reality.
I'm not saying this is the right possibility anyway, but it's a possibility. You could argue however that Tyrion seemed genuinely surprised and that there isn't enough hints pointing to it, to dismiss it. Anyway... its no big deal, that was just a funny moment that won't have any ramification most probably.

7 books scheduled, 5 already released.

So what about the story speculations in this topic? I never red the books and still got temp banned two days ago. Obviously I must have been quite correct about my predictions (no worries post is deleted now). Just sayin...

Your ban was actually a mistake (that's why It got reverted) , feel free to post predictions.

Actually, I think a thread where you can talk about the books only to the point where we are in the show would be a good thing. A ton of people have requested it, as if you've read the book as far as the show, you can't talk in here. And you can't visit the other thread because its filled with spoilers from the last book.

And to be fair, after today's standard the ban would have been even longer, because I did speculate about the number of books and the length of the TV series.

Yes. I specifically remember, after the last episode, someone quoting himself from earlier "blah and blah look like they're going to be the best characters on the show, although you have to give Jaime a hand too". He was practically patting himself on the back thinking he was SO clever in how he hid the spoiler.
