That's confirmed only for first 2 books. Even GRRM said he doesn't have a clue how it could be possible to put 3rd book in only 1 season.

They are putting the first book into 10 eps. The first book is about 750 pages. The 3rd book is something like 1300 pages i think? Not sure it's been a while. They might just make a longer season of more eps. It doesn't really matter though. If people are still watching it by that point then HBO would probably not mind funding more seasons. If people like it then there really isn't a reason to stop, even if a book makes up more then 1 season.

+ Show Spoiler + I liked it overall, the actor choices were pretty good for the most part (except for Cat, not a fan of that choice). The only thing bothering me is the accents. They feel so out of place in a fantasy show.

He gets a bunch of stuff wrong, proving that some of the things were indeed confusing for new viewers (he thinks Jon Arryn is Robert's father and the former king), but the main point is he loved it regardless of missed details, with his reaction to the ending being particularly entertaining, and capturing much of how I felt when I read it for the first time. If you don't want to listen to the whole 20+ minutes, skip to the 8 minute mark for his impressions of the end.

But lots of praise for Tyrion. I think they chose a good actor, but I wanted him to be ugly. Would be even better if people fell for the evil dwarf look before learning about him.

If it adds to the story of something ive been wanting to see for years, or is faithful to the book, that's awesome. there is no reason to ADD in a lesbo scene for 13 year olds, especially when there is only 1 hour in the episode. That time could be spent on better things like character development. You know, the thing that makes the books awesome?

Of course that is the case but I've always just thought of them as Lannisters.

The books are amazing, they have so much lore and indepth information about the the various Houses and stuff. It's very Tolkeinesque in a way

I've read so many different series and books I'd have serious trouble listing them all. A Song of Ice and Fire (this show's Book series title) is probably my all time favorite series. If your a "reading person" I can't stress how good it is.

The series has definitely captivated me and I will be following this semi-religiously, just a matter of reading the books or not now.

I read in Time Magazine that GRRM would only speed up his writing process if the 3rd book gets 2 seasons, and books 4/5 get 3 amongst them. Meaning he wants 7 seasons for his first 5 books.
