Mine was because there wasn a #5 :D I heard in some regions the later books were released in multiple volumes. Confirm/deny?
At least in germany they split up one english book in two german ones. But the german books were poorly translated for my taste so i chose the original.

true, as for the German one, each volume was split in two - so there are basically 8 books:
1. translate book 2. split in two 3. profit
don't even know where to put the "???" :-/

Anyone else really loves to watch TV shows like AGOT because of the length they have much more depth then movies and can in better ways justify going from book to pictures, but at same time hate that they always put a twist or something really exciting at the end of each episode and then the black screen with credits pops up laughing at your misery that you have to wait a whole week(now 2 cause I was impatient) to get andswers!?

It's all business. If they showed it all at once, it'd be a lot less overall profit/marketing

First Edition of the German Books was quite fine (except that bookstores are thinking we shit gold as a lannister so making two of one is ok :p) but in the newer Versions i have to agree unreadable when Jon Snow gets Hardtranslated into Jon Schnee :/

In the topic of translated books, i saw the Norwegian version of the first book in a book store a few days ago and it was like 200 pages? Didnt look through it but i dont even see how thats possible.
Also episode seven, have i missed something? They just showed episode six hence four remaining not three?

There is episode 7 for HBO Go users available.
They translate names in Slovenian versions of books and subtitles too.. gotta hate that!

Oh that is so evil of them to do vs us europeans!

This is fairly common practice i guess, LotR books have Swedish/Norwegian names in translated versions, makes me always buy the english version.

How are you supposed to contribute to the ratings if the country you're in doesn't get HBO? Plus, HBO has said time and again that they don't really base many of their decisions on ratings.
HBO sells it's programming to overseas companies for foreign distribution. They said that episodes of the show are selling for about 2.5 million each, which was a major factor in ordering a second season.

This show really is getting better :D. After episode 5, it really got back on course. Episode 6 was fucking awesome in every way and episode 7 has some great story elements :D.
