GRRM has written a few novellas, and the World of Ice and Fire to complement A Song of Ice and Fire, but of course, if you only watch the show you will be spoiled. Also, the novels have much more content than the show, so reading the novels is a good step to learn a lot about that world. Martin has designed a great world. But his world building can't be compared to Tolkien, Tolkien is just in another level. Language, Religion and poetry isn't Martin strong points. You need lots and lots of LSD to put that many songs into a book full with landscape descriptions.

Coming from Kingslanding, wearing some of the most expensive armor around and wilding a valerian steal sword. His question where "safe" is was a good one, and one she should have asked herself as well. If they both just wanted to wander the world keeping Arya safe, they could have done so together. That would have been super-safe. ;-)

He wanted to get a reward/ransom from Lisa Arryn, and that didn't work out, but they were still together. Where were they going? Did he continue protecting her out of good will? Was he planning to do so forever? Or did they just stay together because why not? But again, where were they going then? He could have tried Riverrun, or eventually some lords in the north who don't like the Boltons. Either way hanging on to Arya would have been the smarter move.

And with that I don't mean who sits on the throne, but it can also be someone behind a "puppet" king. Like Tommen can be king, but Cersei can be the one in charge. Poll: Who will rule Westeros at the end of the series. White Walkers (9) Petyr Baelish (8) Jon Snow (7) Yet unknown person / family (6) Daenerys Targaryen (5) Stannis Baratheon (5) Tyrion Lannister (3) Varys (2) Iron Bank with a puppet on the throne (2) Cersei Lannister (0) Tyrell family (0) 47 total votes Your vote: Who will rule Westeros at the end of the series. (Vote): Daenerys Targaryen

There's no Theon/Reek. :/ I could have added alot of names, like Theon, Arya, Sansa, Brann, Boltons, Freys, etc. But they lack too many things. Like a claim, support, motive, some are too young at this moment to be considered.

I think including Iron Bank/Varys are both fine. Varys is all sneaky and we don't really know what he has/is capable of, and we know that the Iron Bank is wealthy/strong.
