I remember one episode where him and littlefinger are talking in the throne room and they bring up what each other wants. Littlefinger says 'everything' I think and now we know he is kind of playing for the throne in his own way, or power at least. In that conversation when asked what he wants Varys looks at the iron throne which to me kind of implied that he has similar ambitions as littlefinger, but for now he seems more 'trustworthy' than littlefinger (might not be the right word but I means Varys just seems more of a good guy kind of where LF is just climbing that chaos ladder with all sorts of crazy stunts). Maybe with Varys and Tyrion leaving together they will work together from the free cities or something - or run into Dany and help her (not sure if I would like that scenario but it could work I guess). given that ser jorah was exiled for reporting to varys, i'm doubtful of the dany option On June 17 2014 00:13 Biff The Understudy wrote: It's a wild guess, but I would think she might know something about Jon's mother. - why Cersei cares so much about the Mountain (priceless mercenary or?) - why Shae was in Tywin bed (him being the "no whore whatsoever dude") Also the Mountain/Arya scene. Him defending her at the price of his life and her not giving a shit about him.

![]() They really have to introduce characters like oberyn next season to fill the void but he came out of nowhere this season so I'm hopeful.

I really, really, really expected that Jamie would help Tyrion and I didn't read the book. It just made a lot of sense, and I always thought Martin wouldn't kill Tyrion. He is way too valuable as a character, a million time more so than anyone else in the whole story. I would have agreed with you on Tyrion, except I'm not sure what purpose to the plot he still serves. (For example, I didn't think Bran would die anytime soon, since he hasn't DONE anything yet with his plot.) He's been through a lot - now he's an outcast, and presumably has to do something in the plot for him to stay alive? I can't see Martin just writing him off like that blacksmith boy and having Tyrion find some small island and living happily ever after, never to be heard again. As for Tywin, he's probably dead (hence the ringing of the bells). Tyrion seemed pretty set on killing him. The Hound is probably dead, since he's in the middle of nowhere with no food/money/water, but who knows, someone may find him. The one I'm worried about is the Mountain. Even Pycelle is uneasy about the creepy guy experimenting on his body. With the amount of stuff coming back to life on this show (white walkers, undead ghouls they raise, reanimated skeletons, and the fire god guy) I wouldn't be surprised if we see some reanimated corpse or Frankenstein-esque monster running around. As for the other plots - the North just got interesting. Arya got (more) interesting, though she's such a messed up character at this point I genuinely fear her. Varys "serves the realm" (his words, whatever that means) and is escaping King's Landing - who's he supporting? There's a massive shift in power with Tywin's death, with Stannis having a huge army up north, the Tyrells not being affected, and Littlefinger in control of the Vale. Bran finally may do something useful next season, thankfully, but Dany's plot is boring as usual. What's she going to do, lock 2 dragons away and take an army to track down the 3rd? She doesn't seem to be making a move anytime soon...

Always believed it had to be an important missing element of the plot. Well, Eddard told Robert once Jon's mom was some common girl? Granted he could be lying but how many times has Eddard lied to Robert? Someone above said that Jon could be Eddard's sister's son. All I remember about her is that Robert loved her (and not Cercei, which made their marriage miserable for both), that she was abducted? I don't get why Mellisandre would be interested in Jon; even if she somehow knows everyone's lineage, the Starks aren't royalty, unless Robert knocked her up?

Just show how evil and a hypocrite he was, that way people might miss him less. I haven't read the books, but from my point of view, Tywin was not all THAT bad. Sure he let his underlings do some evil stuff, but from what we've seen from Tywin, he was reasonably honorable. Also, how convenient that the whore was Shae. I mean comeon. It all felt like it was to soften the blow a bit. Make sure everyone remembers Tywin as an evil character. That said, I don't think it was bad for the show that Tywin died - storywise. I really liked his acting, but his character was getting too powerful. And I feel like the theme of the show is whoever has power, has to die to create an upset.

I think Varys did that for his own good, not from sympathy for Tyrion. We can except he has big game going in the background just as Littlefinger. As we seen in their throne room dialogue. We just dont know what it is yet ...

The wall is like the typical fantasy siege, basically helms deep with the added "romance with the enemy" line. Dany is like, i dunno. Someone playing sim city/tropico really badly Kings landing is just super intrigue, with rare bursts of sporadic violence. Can't remember the comparison i was gonna make but it was a good one Hound/arya and brienn/podrick had some 3 musketeers shit going on, at least til yesterday :< And now bran is in narnia

She was kidnapped by the Targaryens, and dead before Robert saw her again. And conveniently waited until after Jojen was stabbed before shooting off the fireballs lol. I don't know the exact plot of Lyanna's abduction. Were she and Robert ever together? It's possible (didn't say plausible) that Robert knocked up her before she was abducted. If the show provided more information on their relationship, her kidnapping, and her death, I don't remember it. Still a long shot, and way more convoluted than Ned banging some girl while away from home for so long. Ned's the type of guy to care for even his bastard children.
