White Walker: + Show Spoiler + Can sleep for thousands of years. Unaffected by cold weather. Resurrects corpses as wights by touching them(animals, humans, probably giants too). Has magical powers. Supposedly hard or impossible to kill. Dies instantly when pierced with dragon glass(explodes into dust).
Wight: + Show Spoiler + Looks like a corpse. Glowing blue eyes. Doesn't rot(doesn't smell like a rotting corpse). Can't be killed by hacking or slashing(can still lose bodyparts). Must be destroyed by fire. Extra flammable.
Now that we solved that confusion, I wonder why we didn't see any giant wights yet. I guess the producers just didn't think of doing that.

Also it is highly doubtful she believed her son would be killed by Stannis. You can se that from the way she talks about him in the Blackwater episode. She just seems to regret that she cant seduce him.

Kind of a boring episode.
RIP Ygritte though.
|
RIP Pyp and Grenn. The Wall is gonna be super boring without the most relatable characters. Sam is OK but Jon Snow is a boring mary sue character.

I can tell you the reason: Book Stannis is waaaayyyy cooler than Show Stannis.

Not the right thread for that discussion. In the show, Stannis is sort of a fanatic.. He even gave a speech to Davos when he was imprisoned, telling him he sees no reason to not believe in Melisandre's god. Plus he burned his cousin or something because he was a heretic. His words.
He may be different in the books, but in this thread it makes no difference.

I coudlnt dispute that, but im fed up with book readers defending Show-Stannis, a guy with 0 redeeming qualities so far. He is a bore that drags down the series...

Actually I wasn't going to say any of that, but it was nice of you to assume such.

Well, that gives rise to some conflicts doesn't it?
What if you believe the 'right and honorable thing to do' can only be achieved by using the red priestess and her magic, yet using said priestess is considered not honorable? How can you resolve this?

Stannis is not Ned Stark. Stannis is a man with a very strong sense of justice, Ned was a man who believed in honor over everything else.
Stannis can see the benefits of a "means to an end" approach. Ned couldn't.

Pretty much every character in the series except for Ned Stark can do that. It doesnt justify Stannis horrific deeds.

Can you give a quick overview of his horrific deeds?
Genuine question, it's been a while since I saw season 2.
