Dexter is by far my favorite show on TV so I truly hope this season rebounds in a big way but they've had 5 extremely disappointing episodes in a row and 1 decent episode so far. They basically ignored the ending to season 4. Here's how I imagine their thought process went : "Ok, so let's just ditch the kids; they aren't important after what happened. Oh and all those feelings that Dexter is having trouble with after his wife died? Let's wrap that up in 1 episode as well. Let's also never mention Dexter's brother again after the reveal that people waited 3 seasons to see. That 1 minute scene at the end of season 4 was enough. Let's never go back to that shredded photograph of Dexter's mother that we cleverly left as a loose end 2 seasons ago for this very moment. The Kyle Butler thing? Yeah, a small build up to a useless scene a few episodes later with no payoff should do it. We're freaking geniuses. Now we just need to fill the airtime with more Batista + LaGuerta, Debra having a stupid relationship is a must as well of course. We need new killers too, let's make them as unoriginal and uninteresting as possible. And finally, let's put a woman that acts the same way in every single movie she's ever been in as a main character and have her act as one-dimensional as possible. We've got this man, we've got this by the ass!" | ||

the latest episode was really exciting and i kept on wondering how dexter would be able to get out of that one, but masuka saved the day! lol i'm thinking lumen = prado but the difference is lumen is a girl, dexter might be romantically involved with her, i don't know! plus lumen is julia stiles, so i guess this makes a difference. she could really be new dexter's girl. about quinn and debrah. i think debrah will find out soon that quinn is investigating her brother and they would definitely fight about this. | ||

Problem is they mostly dont introduce nothing new over the time, thats why i get bored of other series. | ||

Anyway, in the newest episode, the one guy goes "your boy is squeaky clean on paper" but wouldn't there be a mention of Dexter getting arrested for getting in an argument with the cops at the end of the last season? | ||

Probably not, since Dexter works for the police, they tend to just drop things like that. Although the real answer is that the writers dropped the ball there. | ||

I have to say, that scene last night where Dexter was chasing the wrapped guy was just great. The look on Dexter's face was just priceless. You could just see the fear and desperation written all over it. It was so good I will overlook the fact that: Deb/Masuka didn't hear the two of them running right around the corner, especially since Dexter had shoes on. The guy didn't cry out for help. For some reason if someone reports hearing gunshots at a warehouse in Miami, they send a homicide detective and two forensic experts to investigate instead of a regular police patrol. (I recall Dexter seeing some police lights outside, but if that cop didn't find anything why would he call homicide?) | ||
