hudgkins lymphoma, thankfully it is very treatable from wiki: "The survival rate is generally 90% or higher when the disease is detected during early stages, making it one of the more curable forms of cancer."
but its good that he is already over it (For those too lazy to read the article, he caught it early on and has been treating it) shits now in full remission.
I actually thought John Lithgow did an excellent job. I was surprised at their choice, especially since I have seen a bit of 3rd rock from the sun, but he had me convinced that he was a serial killer. It wasn't perfect, but I was very entertained. The final showdown was a bit anticlimactic and truthfully, it was a bit of a waste to get rid of Rita like that. I wasn't really expecting the ending because it was so expected, but I still thought it was a fitting end.
Yeah I know what you mean! Was binging season 4 in 2 weeks when they brought back 3rd rock reruns on the tv. It was kind of a mind fuck...

Lithgow has played bad guys before: Raising Cain, Cliffhanger. I remembered him as the guy from 3rd rock but they definitely knew what they were doing when they casted him.
He won the golden globe for best actor too. Kind of lame that he decides to hide the fact that he has cancer until just before the golden globes. Makes it seem like he is exploiting it for gain
Uhhh, just to put this into perspective, the rate of cancer right now in America is so high that HALF of everyone we know will develop cancer in their lifetimes. (Sorry for looking like I pulled this out of my ass: I don't remember where I read it. =P) So if you're shocked by this news then prepare to be shocked hundreds of times in the future.
It's fortunate that he has a very high chance of being cured, though.

If you haven't seen them, basically everything Joss Whedon is worthwhile. Firefly for sure, best sci fi ever created. Followed by Dollhouse, another Joss Whedon. Not as good as firefly, still awesome.
