Doaks died jsut because of incredible bad luck. It's not like Dexter already have enough troubles, The killer was hanging out in the head quarter for quite a long time, Batista saw him and dexter talk... My prediction for the future season + Show Spoiler + I have the very strange feeling that they will just wipe out all this mess and magically start from nothing. Like they did with Doakes. It will be just a bad compromise to get the routine back and stay in the same crew. Good move would be to change city, get rid of the kids maybe just keeping his baby. (like sending them to their grandparents or something). But yeah I think like the previous prediction. Dexter has totally been set up as a bad husband who killed his wife and tried to disguise it as a suicide. Quinn will be the next Doakes. I'm really not exited about the coming season... Hope Ill catch on, ive been a huge fan till now The cops already know that Trinity is Arthur so if he did just call the cops then he would just look like another victim in the cycle. I dont see how the cops finding Rita will make them think Dexter did it. Personally, I did not like the ending...

IMO this season was the best since season 1... but I think the show has run its course... I'll probably still watch it... the producers have shown they can rebound from two crappy seasons... maybe they'll make Season 5 as good as season 1 was... but I doubt it... Jon Lithgow made this season.

Dexter got what's coming to him though. As some one who kills people it's only fair he loses his own On December 15 2009 03:22 fanta[Rn] wrote: I liked that Dexter found a friend for the first time, one he trusted, one who betrayed him in the end, i liked how everything unraveled. Although the finale sucked, it was still a great season imo. haha this happens like every season

The people complaining that Dexter didn't kill enough people this season will be super upset if he is a single parent next season. Having to deal with Rita will be nothing compared to having to raise two children by himself. Hopefully the kids will go to Rita's parent's place to give Dexter plenty of alone time.

Next season will be interesting. It'll probably time jump a few years to where Dexter's son will start to show his own dark side. The other two kids will end up being like Deb (who will end up having a special interest in them). I predict the end of the series will have Dexter killed and have a voice over done by his son, in a Mighty Max it all starts over again thing.

In a perfect world, the show would've ended there. Now Dexter is still a good show, don't get me wrong, but it changed its tone. A previous poster said it well, the series is now about Dexter navigating the social world -- season 2 he found a lover, season 3 he found a friend, season 4 he got married, found another friend, and became a father to some kids. So, I guess, for me, season one set the bar too high, and everything that followed hasn't lived up to that incredibly high standard. I guess I'm evaluating the Dexter series as a whole, comparing it to other great television shows whose whole series was outstanding. To get a little off topic: The Sopranos had, arguably, two weak seasons -- the one that focused on Tony and Carmella's marriage, and the one with Steve Buscemi. The Wire had no weak seasons (and is my favorite TV series so far). I'm currently watching Six Feet Under, and so far after two seasons I'm still impressed (it's like two seasons of deep character development set against the constant spectre of death). Christ, I watch too much television.

Explain me few thing. How trinity found where Dexter Actually lived? The end was like Born In Blood. Like the killer knew dexter's childhood. The "Father" voices getting more and more like "kill kill kill" voice "you muuuust kill like I said" -- Of course it's quite impossible that Dexter killed Rita. But the message they are sending is that it might as well been him (at a subconcious level), would have been the same. Of course, they could never have done that because dexter would become very unlikable. Bad thing for a main character. This is what Trinity said in the end about path written by god destiny blablabla... -- Don't know about you but I had really no joy from him killing Trinity. He was just that sad little guy who is waiting for God to stop him or whatever, can't finish the deer he ran over. On the opposite, loved season three when he killed Miguel, such a pleasure as that guy was so arrogant. --

Remember he found debs house first? He probably just went to the next "D Morgan" in the book. And yes, I believe it is meant to show how Dexter is responsible for Rita's demise and how he probably just turned his son into prima version of himself by allowing Rita to die in front of him in a similar fashion to how his mother died in front of him. Dexter is going to end up being like harry, he didn't want this life for his son, but since it will become unavoidable, Dexter will help him embrace his fathers legacy in a way he could never do for harry Next season should be SICK.

Agree with 0x64, it was a blast when he finally killed Migel. Not so with Trinity. I wonder if it really was Trinity who killed Rita. Then again, if he didn't, why did he act surprised when Dex talked about family? Can't believe Rita is gone, even though at times annoying, she developed into an important role in Dexter's life. In the end he even had FEELINGS (felt bad for disappointing her) for/because of her. Now she's gone, wow.
