I googled this but can't find anything. Is this related to real life or part of the episode?

Is this related to real life or part of the episode? A lot of people think that Dexter has gone downhill since Season 4, so I'd guess it's related to that. Honestly I think Season 5/6 weren't as good as 1/4/7 but not as bad as they're made out to be.

Something I find very odd is that at the beginning of season two, Sgt. Doakes was following Dexter for weeks. And Dexter said something about 38 days(? would need to rewatch it) without killing. After that he was not able to kill and messed up the next two victims (blind guy and little chino). Now I don't know if this may be because of his brother that he got through the time so "easily" (despite saying that he needs a kill badly) but isn't it strange that now, after a week he behaves like the sickest addict needing to hurt somebody (the time he pushed the guy in the police station) but back then he didn't act like that at all after weeeeeeks of not killing anybody. Maybe someone got any insides, might be that I didn't thought about something.

Deleting someones files on a book isnt unrealistic because we were never even hinted at whether that was all of them or not, merely all that dexter came into contact with. People take the limited information of dexters perspective to be an example of perfect information, which is mind numbing its so stupid.Show nested quote + On November 13 2012 00:15 Kurr wrote: On November 12 2012 18:56 GolemMadness wrote: Dexter: where writers don't back up their life's work. You'd think if you had sensitive shit like that on your computer you'd be a bit more security conscious.

You'd think if you had sensitive shit like that on your computer you'd be a bit more security conscious. I don't think it is possible to lock computers in the Dexter universe. Nobody secures their computers with passwords in this show, not even Louis who was made out to be a tech wizard (aside from being a living Razer add ;-). Overall the season is having good vibes, but some of the stuff just is anoying. Debra was finaly given some meaning in the show, with her contrasting feelings about Dexter, but over a very short period of time she has come to not only accept him, but also just asked him to kill someone. Dexter acting very stupid to protect Hannah, deleting those (obviously backed up) files from Sal's computer would only turn the heat on himself, even more than just taking that DNA sample. What if the DNA didn't match, he would have no leverage on Sal while looking very suspicious himself. Atleast we will never know if the DNA matched, it's getting tiresome how many murderers who stumbles into Dexter for unrelated reasons.

The fact that Dexter thinks "I'll delete these files and that'll destroy his book" is ridiculous. He's obviously an intelligent person who's very proficient with computers. Why would he think that?
