There's no reason for him to say that he's carrying a needle unless he already has something planned out since he knows that travis is going to ask him to inject himself.

You think he'd improve. Get faster, smarter, never make mistakes. This whole season was full of cringing moments like "Why would he do that?" You would think with more on the line (his son), he'd take extra precautions to make sure he's never at stake. Being ordered to go to a previous crime scene and then deciding to kill someone there at the same time he's scheduled to be there... really stupid.

We are seeing the transformation of him from being an emotionless, perfect, neat killer to what he is now. Filled with emotion and personal ties to things, he is bound to get sloppy.

Compared to how the personal development of the charaters was in Breaking bad, The development of Dexter is just bad.... It Imo just felt like the writers got tired of Dexter of the emotionelless Dexter, and then they wanted to refresh the series, and they gave Dexter a son.... IMO its just pointless and i couldn't care less about how he has changed. In breaking bad however its totally different, as the main character has gone through dilemma after dilemma and slowly changed to a bad guy in a realistic way. Dexter on the other hand just decided to change as he got a family. Not really very interesting. Add that to the fact that Dexter is filled with lots of pointless substories, and a medium interesting main plot, and its a really bad show.

This is something that drove me nuts during Breaking Bad. The main character will act in a way that makes you think, "he'd never do that!" just for the sake of advancing the plot.

Quinn is the only character that can keep this show alive.

I would be very surprised if she doesnt connect him to the bay harbor butcher almost instantly

As far as they are concerned, Dokes did it.
