have harrison die, thus sending him into a blind rage and the department maybe seeing him kill or realizing he is a killer somehow, and the next season being the finale with the entire department searching for dexter and him taking out the ones getting in his way like Quinn etc, each episode would be really epic, it would tie off the series nicely (dexter isn't supposed to live a normal life right? so when his son dies he snaps and realizes that he's going to just embrace his darkness), and the end being debra's take on it, with dexter finally falling and the series ending, how epic would that be ? | ||

Dexter was renewed for seasons 7&8, so yes it's impossible but that idea for season 8 would be epic. Absolutely epic. | ||

Then I'd be a whole different story and character. Dexter is cool because he is what he is now. I don't think people would enjoy this change, as it would become another standard serial killer series. | ||

 )However I will give a newcomers opinion to the show. I've heard of it before but never got around to watching it, but I finally decided to watch the very first episode about a week ago. To be perfectly honest I found it a bit disturbing at times. I am not a fan of any film, game or series with excessive gore in it. Dexter was obviously a very weird character to get used to but not impossible. The series did keep me entertained however, I kept watching through. If it had kept going the way most of series 1 did, I would of probably not ranked it all that high in my list of favourites. However near the end of series 1 it started to get a lot more interesting. I suspected (as I'm sure many others did) that the Doctor who Dex's Sister was dating was the killer. He seemed a bit odd and not long after his introduction into the series he revealed he'd studied human anatomy (or something similar). As it went by the plot became more and more interesting, especially when it was revealed they were Brothers. When it started to become obvious that his sister was in danger, I suddenly found myself warming to Dexter in a totally different way than before. I didn't view him as a hero or much of a good guy, but when he started to figure out who the Doctor really was, he became the hero to me. I didn't like that Doctor guy at all, from the moment he was first in the series, such a twisted man and now he planned to harm a loveable character in Dex's Sister. I was willing Dexter to succeed and beat the guy. When it eventually happened, and he grabbed the doctor with a fibre wire, it was relieving in a way, to know that "the hero succeeded". While I still hold other series above it (such as House of which I am a huge fan), its definitely on the interest list. I'm going to keep watching it as I'm only a couple of episode into Series 2. I hope that they keep up the same kind of suspense the end of series 1 had. | ||

+ Show Spoiler + it was pretty predictable imo...figured it out once she assigned him to sweep the church. Given how they built up their potential romance, and how deb almost found out in s5, it was inevitable. Got to be my least favorite season ever. Even season 5 and 3 had their good moments, but this season was a total bore fest. Here's hoping the intern brings back s7 to s4 level | ||

I guess not a terrible season, a bit disappointed though, The ending just didn't seem all that great. They didn't explain why the animal tranquilizer didn't work on Dexter but I assume he either injected it down his throat or somehow thought to bring a spare empty needle. | ||
