I noticed NO ONE mentioned that LaGuerta tried hard to close the hooker case - only to phone up someone unknown and let him/her/whoever know 'it has been taken care of' - classic dialogue that invites for plot twists. She seemed scared/tense about it.
I personally hope they fix season 6 with the following:
1.- They find out what dirty stuff LaGuerta is in 2.- They either send her to prison, humilliate her publicly or have her become a victim of Gellar's 3.- Dexter goes cuckoo crazy and fully embraces his brother instead of his lame dad 4.- He goes reckless, gets trapped, kills some cops and goes out on a run 5.- The season and the show ends with a weird escape or an epic last stand
But plz, plz, whatever you do, get rid of LaGuerta, I can't stand her fat, ugly ass bossing people around. It's just pathetic!
I'm pretty sure the guy who killed the whore was somebody with a lot of influence. All we've seen LaGuerta do is suck up to powerful people in order to get a promotion. It's probably a very high ranking police commander or a politician.

He didn't kill her, she OD'ed. He was present, that's all.

I'm almost sure it's captain Matthews or whatever he is now. Remember the reason she got the promotion is because she blackmailed him about some mistress

I quit watching this after the season where Rita died. Question is this show still worth watching?
I can relate to Dexter (not killing people lulz) with his inner demons, but I was afraid the show would jump the shark after said season.

I've been very very happy with this season so far.

This makes the most sense. They seem to be going for a "Hey guys notice all the clues to Angel? JK it is someone else SIKE!"
They certainly hinted it being Angel by her wanting to talk to him at the crime scene and then speaking on the phone in a manner that she would speak to him. The logical response is to think it is him, but I think it is someone else, and that someone else is probably Mathews.

Some people didn't like season 5 as much as the rest. But i do encourage you to watch at least this season. Old characters return and it's shaping up to be one of my favorite seasons so far.

Just started watching it about 3 days ago, already into season 3. It's really an amazing show so far.

I don't know why people like this season... It seems to be way too predictable and filled with a ton of filler. They teased this season saying Dexter was back to his old self, and I've already scene 3 or more episodes where he doesn't even kill anyone. This show has turned into a sitcom for me. It's lost what made it special. They introduce huge potential, and then let it diminish within a single episode. For instance, having Dexter hallucinate his brother instead of Harry, only to solve the issue by the end of the episode. How disappointing. The writers for this show should be shot.

It's downhill after season 2. Be prepared for the shockingly bad season 3.

I still like Season 3 as being best season for me. I mean compared to Season 4 (which I had hard time watching it because Dexter was being retarded and not killing Trinity killer when had chance) I enjoyed it more. Season 2 had that annoying girl, but Season 5 was interesting because girl again (though was not really interested about main story but more about Dexter and Lumen relationship)

Different people will have different opinions, but personally I liked season 5 a lot; definitely above seasons 3 and 6. I feel like Dexter's soul searching in seasons 3 and 6 is far too cliched, and there is too much focus on the side characters that I don't much care for (Prado, Quinn, LaGuerta, etc.) Season 5 Dexter felt more like the "old" Dexter to me, and of course season 4 had Trinity.
In any event, there's not a big difference to me between my favorite and least favorite seasons of the show, so I definitely don't think it's jumped any sharks. It's still Dexter.

what i don't get the most is last season where rita gets killed and it didn't even cross dexter's mind to track the killer and seek revenge.after he came out of depression he just moved on as if nothing happened. it's not even brought into light in this season of who the possible killer was and if he was even on the look out for that person.

Haha oh my god... You do realize that Trinity killed Rita before Dexter killed Trinity... That's why there was no reason to search for the killer. Because of Dexters obsession, Trinity was able to survive long enough to take Rita out, unbeknownst to Dexter.

Huh? Rita's killer? Are you joking?

That's pretty much the first time I've heard S3 being called good at all, haha. Of course you're entitled to your opinion, but I honestly thought the first 8 episodes of S3 were barely watchable, followed by a good finale.
