yeah ... won't the police test the blood in the grand prix that Dexter crashed in the camp driveway?? he busted his head pretty good, seems hard to believe they wouldn't check that out.
Yea ... dexter will test it and confirm its chases blood or some other BS
true enough I suppose... Deb would have to get in on it too then since she must have seen Chase's car outside.

You know what I found actually more shocking and troubling than the finale? The fact that Michael C Hall and Jennifer Carpenter have seperated!!!!! I can't believe it, especially considering the fact that Michael C Hall has recently just recovererd from cancer. You'd think that a life threatening event like that would bring the two even closer.
Woah. I usually don't care much for celeb gossip, but that is shocking. I already would have thought it to be very awkward having your wife play your younger sister on a hit television show, but to now have it be your ex >.>; weeiiird
i thought Lumen would die, i was surprised she just left What i found confusing that when Chase died there were 20 minutes left, i was WTFing like crazy how the hell will they fill up with super intense drama and nailbiting swings... well, they did not, i dont really mind actually, it was ok, i wonder what will be the theme for next seasons.
Bahaha. I just started watching Dexter, as I have heard quite a bit about it. I'm watching episode 2 of season one right now. The scene where they are investigating the blood in the cops families house was going, and he pulls up the couch thing, looking under it. Right when he said look, and Angel gets down, the SCBW installer (the dl just finished) thing pops up and makes the intro sound. Scared the crap out of me.

Not even close; it had the potential to be so much better. Not saying it was awful, I just expected more.
I agree. There wasn't really a "bombshell", which there more or less was in each of the previous season finales. 3 wasn't much of a bombshell, but it was exciting at least. 1 and 4 definitely were and 2 somewhat was. Nothing really happened at the end of 5. Everything was rainbows and sunshine on a show about a serial killer.
this season finale was pretty awful, honestly. Julia stiles pretty much ruined this entire season for me (I think she sucks ass at acting, her part was cheesy, she wasn't convincing, and I dont even find her particularly attractive...just my 2 cents) I heard Michael C. Hall cheated on Jennifer carpenter (deb) with julia stiles and that's why they're getting split. Also heard that deb might not come back next season. If that's the case this show is pretty much dead to me and there is no reason to watch next season =/
just my rant. sucks seeing one of your fav. tv shows become horrible! even last season with trinity was way better than this.

Oh wow.... Okay.... So apparently the news that Michael C Hall and Jennifer Carpenter split up was the second to last episode. It was both shocking and confusing and we were left hanging in suspense trying to figure out why they split up. But even more shocking... the finale was Michael C Hall hooking up with Julia stiles which ended the relationship!!! Wow. What a shocking finale. Did not see that coming at all even though it seemed to have been foreshadowed here and there.

haha, it's like Lumen continues to ruin the show even when she's finally gone. Damn shame if it's true

Yeah, this season was atrocious. I stopped watching it half-way through. I just started watching Dexter last season, which was great, and watched all the other seasons on DVD, which were also great. I was so looking forward to this season, but it ended up being a huge disappointment. Apparently the main writer left the show after Season 4, and it shows. I have very low expectations for next season.
Oh well, at least Boardwalk Empire turned out to be awesome.
I feel this season had the trajectory of a Lorentzian curve. It started out poor, even worse than season 3 I felt, but managed to become engrossing the more that dexter was allowed to show how much of a predator he truly is. That said, things fell towards the end, and the finale felt like a total cop out just so they can carry on making more dexter because people watch it. The natural conclusion of this story arc would be dexter to be found out, its what i hoped and i felt cheated that it didnt happen.
This show is done IMO. Unless Deb gets killed or something, I can't see how they'd do a 6th season. Finale was a bit of a let down too, as others have said, nothing really happened. A far cry from season 1 and 4.
This was the worst season finale of the worst season of Dexter thus far.
Let me say this though: This is still one of if not the best show you can watch. This season included. I love this show and all it's about.
That said, this season was really bad. Way too much relationship shit with Deb/Quin (standard) and Angel / Laguarta (usually deb is tolerable but doubled up with this it was intolerable as a whole). They start with cult killings (AWESOME) but then it ends in a side plot that never ends up mattering? They make this big fucking deal out of deb being a scape-goat but then in the same episode (basically) it's resolved and everyone is fine with each other. Also one of the brother's got away or something but that was never really dealt with.
Too little Masuka. That was dumb.
Main plot was brutal and interesting. Group that is mind controlled by a fanatical super villain type guy... cool. But each guy was hunted down and murdered NO PROBLEM. One guy managed to kinda run away and Dexter ALMOST got caught which made for the best episode of the season btw. Ok...
Love story? Standard Dexter. But this was bad. I wanted her to turn out to be a manipulator. I wanted her to end up not being able to stop killing. I wanted her to turn on Dexter. I WANTED SOMETHING other than "oh I am cured. Thanks cya" what? It all wasn't convincing anyways. Lets do a stand alone OK I think they "love" each other. She got raped to SHIT and is now having sex with Dexter and carrying on fairly normally? They should have ditched the love connection for this season... or at least changed the story. No woman that gets gang raped and imprisoned while tortured to near death is having sex with her vigilante boyfriend a week later. Suspend disbelief yeah yeah but come on?
Finale: What the fuck? ALMOST got cool with Deb finding them. But then nothing. ALMOST got cool with Jason nearly taking Dexter out but then he fucking leaves dexter on the floor free except for his hands are tied.. come on? Bond made it look more convincing with villain "I am going to draw out this dramatic death while I explain my plans/reasoning."
I am 100% completely enthused for the next season. But I have nothing to get jacked about aside from the show improving. Quin shoulda died in a "whoops" murder. Deb shoulda found out about Dexter. Angel and Laguarta should have died or SOMETHING... you can't go from the most epic season finale/one of the best seasons of any show ever to THIS which was a bland fest
I just started watching Dexter, and I have to say, it's really good.
I'm halfway into season 2, and I really think they did an amazing job on the character development of Rita and Dexter.
One thing I can't stand though is Deborah, she's such a total bitch. She's ugly and she rages over the most stupid shit ever. It makes me gag whenever I see guys in the show refer to her as "hot" like in the gym where she looks like she is working out hard but she has scrawny ass arms that hardly look like they've lifted a weight in years.
I have avoided this thread like the plague because i did not yet have the time to watch any of the dexter episodes, so i watched them all yesterday in a marathon session (LOL vacation.).
want to say first this a bit of a badly written recap, because i am not sure i remember things in the right order so sorry about that. watching this series again was seriously painful at first after the huuuuuge season 4 death of rita. It was gutwrenching to me how we saw dexter completely unable to deal with the situation like we've seen him do so many times. Then astor and him once again end up fighting, like they have been doing a lot throughout the season before as well. Then they end up shipping the kids off to orlando, and frankly i could not care about the cop out that was, because honestly i'm watching this series for dexter and his turmoil. I'm not watching how does a man without feeling deal with teenager issues throughout the entire series. Then lumen turns up and i'm instantly going lololol with the huge hint in her name, could they have made that any more obvious? for anyone who does not know, lumen is latin for light. The constant referencing of the darkness in dexter that is ever present and the special circumstances of them meeting sealed a season of interaction between these two counterparts. It's fitting that she ends up in the season finale being a ray of light for dexters soul, it shows him that it is possible to change.
Ok that is taking way to long, the finale was pretty good imo. The dexter series has seen a very structured system to each system with the finale wrapping things up and creating a closed story arc. This finale was the same and it left me satisfied but hungry for more on dexter. I am super intrigued how they are going to wrap up the loose ends that were left throughout this finale. The crashed car for example is an easy lead back to the crime scene of liddy because it was stolen nearby and turns up conveniently at the barrel girl site. I liked how lumen left and did not get killed or arrested which would be a rehash of season 4 all over again. only thing that saddens me is that dexter just ended up alone AGAIN, every season i feel for the guy and i am sooooo awaiting the moment he just gushes out his entire secret how he was the bay harbor butcher and not doakes how the ice truck killer was his brother, that he was the vigilante everything. his character saddens me every time, and this time they really freaking cock teased you in the season finale with the epic deborah showdown and getting some very good character development in at the same time. loved that part. Then i loved the part where dexter is disgusted with his own reflection and throws the plates against the oven. that was a realllly strong moment to me. overall i liked the season, it was not the fucking gut wrenching ending of season 4, but let's be honest here if they would have tried to top that season finale in any way, what would have happened? IT WOULD HAVE FAILED MISERABLY AND EVERYONE WOULD HAVE HATED IT. this way they are setting up for the final season imo, it won't last till the 7th. now on to predictions in my next spoiler. :-)
-harrison in the beginning of season 6 will exhibit normal behaviour and dexter will believe more in the grief counselors words that harrison was not affected. following in the line of season 5 that things CAN end well.
-It's not over yet with quinn, i know they tried to wrap things up with the quinn and liddy case, but honestly it was too much. it was kinda sorta half-assed wrapped up, and i think that the season will start out normally but some around 1/3 or 1/2 way in quinn will rekindle his suspicions about dexter. (out of spite possibly (see next part.), or another weird cover up dexter move to get himself out of a tough position.) another thing that is possible is that the flipped car at the jordan park starts the next story arc. - related to the last point, quinn will be stressed out and weird because he now carries a secret that no one else knows, that liddy was about to make a big bust related to dexter and got killed. by a professional even (dexter told quinn this himself in the van scene at the end of season 5.) with a single stab to the heart. this behaviour will be cause of more drama with morgan. - morgan will start in a process of reinventing herself. the event at the end of season five marks a fundamental change in the way morgan works as a character. as others said, things are not black and white. she will doubt herself and will look for help to dexter. - morgan will be in spanish class and be constantly bitching about how hard it is, angel will help her.
- angel and laguerta will once again play the love birds and remain as a side plot / mental support figures. - more masuka jokes will be seen, as that was lacking from season 5 imo.
- some random drama with the kids will occur, it will involve astor and dexter bonding as a true family with dexter running off every now and again obv.
SEASON 6 finale: - dexter will be revealed. i hope that it will happen in a good way, not in the oh snap i forgot about some shit and he gets caught in the act type of way. Dexter needs to tell the complete story to everyone about his life and all the things he has faced. he will try to cover up for lumen because "he will carry the darkness for her" , will it work is another question. - there is one other option and (this will infuriate me if they try to take this route) that is that dexter pretty much gets over his dark passenger. possibly to live happily ever after, or to die / vanish. Wishfull thinking? hell yeah!

This pretty much sums up everything, even tho I've but a clue what a Lorentzian curve is. If there wasn't a season 6 planned I feel everything would have been just dandy. But no. They just have to go and make it terrible
ya, season was shit.. i feel like the writers are slapping us in the face everytime they bring Deb 4 feet away from dexter with a dead guy on a table, and then she just lol's and walks away. i was actually excited to see him get caught but the show isnt taking enough risks....
