Was a decent ending to a poor season anyways.

Where did that knife come from that Dex used to break free? He just magically somehow produces it and a stab to the shoe finishes off the main protagonist after a half-assed "chase"...

Sadly I think the writers "wrapped up" that saga in Dexter, I don't think it will be revisited again at all. the ending of the season was basically just them saying they found the torture chamber blabla bullshit and we are left to assume Dexter cleaned it all up. I thought the season was good, but that was a fucking terribad final episode.

Most of the "loose" ends can be explained if you think about it a bit. We've seen Dexter putting a knife in his socks before, so the knife didn't "suddenly" appear. And doing mistakes is human, so Jordan not noticing it isn't a stretch. The most ridiculous thing about the whole Quinn story is how quickly La Guerta was able to spot blood on Quinn's shoes. Not even Quinn was able to spot it when he put his shoes on that morning.. How often do you actually look at someone's shoes? (Shawshank anyone?) Men don't look at shoes, women do. (the main reason women wear shoes is to impress other women, not men) Also this was an embarrassing situation as you could see when La Guerta confronted Quinn, so what do you do then? Look down. It's a very common human reaction, so noticing the blood while you are already suspicious of the person, and she is a seasoned detective who are trained to look for stuff like that? Very likely in my opinion. Some of the scenes were really great, and the ending was good enough. To get a better one it would probably have to be the last of the series. Can't wait for the next season. =)

I almost feel like the writers didn't know there would be another season or something. I have no idea if that's the case or when they found out it was confirmed, but they sure acted like it. They built up the season in a way that could easily have led to a series finale. To me, the real season finale just seemed like a thrown together way to get to the next season without any real thought. I dunno... Definitely disappointed with the season finale, there was so much more they could have done.

Still looking forward to next season... I really enjoyed this season, just a terrible finale. A couple good parts about the finale... Lumen mentioning wanting to leave Dexter because her "dark passenger" is no longer there. She doesn't have the need anymore, and he does, and she cannot live with him like that. It's like Dexter finally found someone (who wasn't a psycho like Lyla) who accepted him for exactly what he does, and she leaves him in the end. I usually don't feel much for the characters, but that part was well done. I also really liked how after that talk with Lumen, he saw his reflection in the glass plate and chucked it against the fridge, shattering it into pieces. Poor Dexter...

I hope the next season happens years later and Harrison has the urge to kill people. Then Dexter has to teach Harrison how to deal the darkness.

Season 5 happened. Shocking? No. Unfortunate? Yes. :sadpanda

I am so fed up with Dexter cleaning someones elses mess. Lumen was okey, she wasnt that clumsy and could help. She only had some trauma as well. Rita was sent from hell, she was so horrible annoying that I would kill her myself if I was married to her. Hope next season focus on Dexter alone, and that he is in a very tight spot to save himself from something. I dont want to see Dexter as dad, teaching boring things we have already seen. I might not even watch the next season if it involves those kids that was gonna stay with him.

Dexter is the best series I've watched since Prison Break season 1-2. Something I wanted to ask : + Show Spoiler + Do we know who killed Rita ? Did I missed something and it was Trinity because I remember Dexter going for Trinity and when he was done Rita was gone. Did Trinity killed Rita just before that or it's still in the air? I thought the ending of season 5 was a bit weird too with Quinn being cleared of everything just based on the blood analysis. What about the equipement he burrowed, the phone calls and all the links between him and the dead cop whose name I don't remember ?
