It'll be cool to see old Dexter again next season. At the party, I could feel the old season 1 sensation of how Dexter would cope with the social event. I love its awkwardness :D

+ Show Spoiler + Very little was gained or lost this season in plot development. Sure Dexter found some momentary solace with Lumen, but it seems that he will ultimately revert back to his old lifestyle. Rita's death seems to have been entirely brushed under the carpet after the first episode. Mayyybe something will develop again with Quinn, since I'm sure he must know what Dexter is now. The kids live with their grandparents...and we have a new nanny character? Then there's the villains. Boyd had great potential but he went out early. Aside from Jordan, the rest of the group came off as filler for Lumen and Dexter to hunt down. There wasn't much personality with any of them, they simply were a part of the group. Jordan himself seemed like an interesting concept, sadly his story is executed rather poorly. Perhaps the biggest blunder of all was never adequately addressing Jordan's relationship with his first victim. We're led to believe there may be an interesting story here considering he is still in contact with her and carries her blood, but no, he ends up bludgeoning her to death. In the finale I expected to finally get a deeper understanding of the group, but it never came. Instead we receive a load of anti-climatic bullshit. I know season 4 is tough to follow, but I really think this could have been better.

Biggest letdown ever. For me that was by far the worst season of Dexter, it seems like the writers tried to put all the good stuff from the previous seasons into one. Someone in the departement being suspicios of Dexter (Doakes), Dexter finding a partner in crime (Miguel Prado), Dexter in a weird love affair (Lila), Deb fucking someone who is relevant to the plot (every season so far). It didn't work. Lot's of wasted potential here, I actually really enjoyed Chase as the villain, but how they got him was unimaginative to say the least. The whole Liddy-storyline also looked promising but the way they finished it was lame. A Dexter finale with no tension whatsoever in the last 15 minutes is just really, really sad.

This was a good season and Jordan Chase was a fantastic character. I'm glad they got rid of Lumen but still doesn't feel right. The finale didn't even come close to the power and emotion of last season which actually challenged to audience to deal with something out of the ordinary. This kind of just did the usual herp derp lets rap everything up all nice and tidy back to the usual...

The only part that induced the usual feeling of anxiety and bonding with the protagonist was the part where lumen was leaving but everything leading up to that was so lackluster that it sorta had this feeling of mediocrity rub off on it too. Bleh. Oh yeah debra letting them go was horrible. I felt like a huge part of the Dexter storyline was that Debra was such a hard liner cop that if she found out what Dexter was doing she would arrest/shoot him without hesitation. Now its just feels like that part of the drama is gone.

"how do they explain that Quinn got surveillance equipment out of the station?" Well the old cop that got killed could have used Quinn to get the equipment (wink wink). Nothing proves Quinn got it himself.

Also, 0 cliffhanger for the next season. Absolutely 0 tension towards the end of the episode made it very forgettable and sub-mediocre - especially for a finale.

I don't like how they ended Quinn's cop friend dying so simply, and Quinn was let off the hook in no drama at all. The finale seemed anticlimatic, I could see a mile away that Deb was just gonna leave and let them go and then she leaves like nothing ever happened. Fun. Where was the turmoil and self-loathing that Dexter was suppose to feel after Rita's death? I dunno..I don't get this season at all.

But everything felt so rushed about the last episode and with so many glaring plot holes - Deb acting way out of character, Quinn and Dexter magically helping each other out and forgetting their conflict, the police suddenly letting Quinn off the hook even though he was acting very suspicious and they had traceable evidence associating him with the murder, Jordan Chase's killing was uninspired at best; he had so much potential as a villain, all in vain. Not to mention the cheesy, vomit inducing boat romance scene. One thing that made me happy was Lumen (horrible name btw) leaving. Couldn't stand that bitch. Also, 0 cliffhanger for the next season. Absolutely 0 tension towards the end of the episode made it very forgettable and sub-mediocre - especially for a finale. i disagree. it was hinted that deb was deeply disturbed by the acts of jordan chase and his colleagues. she even said that the vigilantes were heroes or something and she admired them or something along those lines. the police let quinn off the hook because dexter obviously ruined the blood results and said it wasn't that cop's blood that dexter killed ( forgot his name ). the jordan chase scene and murder did seemed rushed though. now as for next season there is tension because now dexter has to live with the fact that someone out there knows his secret and he was hurt by lumen leaving him.

There is no need for proof that Quinn got it himself as long as Quinn doesn't explain anything. Quinn's fingerprints are on the van, Liiddy called Quinn minutes before he was killed and Quinn is not willing to make a statement without his lawyer. Now that looks suspcious to me. Still, nobody investigates him because the drop of blood on his shoe isn't Liddy's, or at least that's what HIS GIRLFRIEND'S BROTHER says? Now that looks like a giant plot hole to me.

Dexter did this on purpose because he just wants Debra to be happy for once.

Still, nobody investigates him because the drop of blood on his shoe isn't Liddy's, or at least that's what HIS GIRLFRIEND'S BROTHER says? Now that looks like a giant plot hole to me. the blood was the only thing that tied Quinn to the crime. the story he could've told: Liddy called Quinn a bunch of times, pestering him to the point he didn't pick up the phone anymore. Liddy obviously wanted a cop to get surveillance equipment, so he forged Quinn's signature instead. the woman at the department as well as security cameras could verify that it was indeed Liddy and not Quinn that took out the equipment. from here he could just tell the truth. Liddy called him saying he needed help arresting someone dangerous. Liddy tells Quinn to meet him at wherever the crime scene is, Quinn goes and finds the van locked (explaining his fingerprints) and leaves. Angel said it was obviously whoever was being watched that killed Liddy, because they took all the recordings with them. Quinn could pin it on Kyle Butler, because he was previously arrested for pursuing the Mitchell boy under witness protection for details on Kyle Butler. or he could just say he had no idea who Liddy was spying on, but just that it was some killer that he wanted to arrest to become a cop again. so yes Quinn is still involved in Liddy's death, but he's no longer a suspect.
