...and from that point on, there were always two hokages. The one you know with his face engraved in the mountain, and the hidden one working from the shadows. Because in the end, no one can shoulder all of the burden alone. And that is how the Senju clan and Uchiha clan finally came at peace. Believe it.

I thought about reading it in the past but never got around to it. Lots of people in the one piece thread say that the plot currently is really lacking, there are lots of plotholes and it feels like the author is giving up/gave up. What are your opinions on the plotline right now and should i read it? I'm not a fan of reading good manga for it to drop in quality in the end. No and hell no to both questions. Manga is better than the anime and One Piece is not dropping in quality, some people just don't like the changes certain characters made during a 2yr time skip pretty much. If anything Naruto is the story that is dropping in quality and has the major plot holes and it's ending in 4 chapters and no one has a clue how he's going to end it with that few pages left with a ton of stuff to tell still.

I think he meant to ask about Naruto, and that ppl in the OP thread saying Naruto dropped in quality, and should he pick up Naruto despite that.

Yes, what vndestiny said. Sorry for miswording. I already read one piece so I know it's good. I'm asking people who solely read naruto on their opinions whether it's good enough to pick up as I heard the latter half of naruto is really bad.

It's not bad per se but it had so much going for it in the pre time skip era that it's kinda disappointing that it got a bit sloppy.

Anime is definitely not better than manga (very rarely the case anyway) and Naruto has a lot of filler but if you have time I'd probably watch it because Naruto has some really nice openings and a great OST collection. 600episodes is tough to make time for though, probably ~ 450 if you cut out all the fillers.

Undecided about Part 2 Naruto yet. About One Piece plot being lacking. In terms of plot, One Piece>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Naruto. Unlike Kishi, Oda is a superior story teller and pace his story better. One Piece greatest sales http://www.saiyanisland.com/2011/11/top-10-manga-in-2011-by-series-one-piece-naruto-lead-the-pack/ Their sales was the greatest during One Piece War Arc. There is a reason why Naruto and Bleach started their own respective war arc after One Piece Whitebeard War Arc. They tried to copy One Piece success but both ended in mediocrity.

I'm asking people who solely read naruto on their opinions whether it's good enough to pick up as I heard the latter half of naruto is really bad. The latter half isn't half bad. It's imho all good untill they defeat Pain, then Sasuke is introduced again for realsies and everything just goes down the shitter. Kishi just made the story impossible with the Sauce being so unlikeable, I don't think anyone cares for him or his struggle. Or for naruto's struggle to bring him back for that matter. I must say though I was rewatching the pre-time skip stuff and that is just magical for some reason. The Zabuza fight (first major powerhouse) was as awesome as ever. In shippuden the magic was just gone for some reason. And on the One Piece stuff: I love OP BUT. I only watch it in six month intervals, every arc in the show has the exact same structure and that kills the not so good arcs. Watching or reading this on a weekly basis is almost tortorous to me because it's slow and filled with inconsequental storylines. The pacing is serverly lacking at some points, Oda insists to be do the same things over and over and over again for some reason. The over arcing storyline is the most awesome one I have ever seen in a manga/anime. But be wary, the week to week grind can be a bit though.

Edo Tensei, trying to redeem every single villain and the "I'm actually the final boss" twists ruined it, imo.

I disagree, the redemption of Pain I found to be well done. He was a complex figure and the parallels with Naruto were very relevant. Most bad guys got put down like a bunch of dogs to balance out the big redemptions. I could have done without Tobi being redeemed though..... The only truely horrible final boss was Kyuuga, No one will argue with that, I actually think Madara was the most awesome final boss ever. Too bad the Sauce still needs an ass kicking, would have liked to have ended the manga when Madara got defeated. The Sasuke drama though has corrupted nearly every part of the story line like an emocancer.

Honestly, the war arc in the second half is not that bad -_- Naruto pre timeskip was fantastic. Loveable characters, great fights and you saw different types of justus from many different characters. Post timeskip, you still had those and it was good too but the war arc just made some parts boring as in, speed this up or no need to know this or see this over and over. Even in the war arc, we saw some major fun fights. I would say that there was only one boring fight that comes to mind: + Show Spoiler + Kaguya fight nah, manga >> anime. Anime has way way too many fillers. I watched all of Naruto and about 219 episodes of Naruto Shippuden (post time skip) before I eventually just dumped it. Time consuming and Naruto acts like he forgets how to fight till the last filler episode. Anyways, you won't go wrong with the manga imo.

Movie takes place after manga. So click on your free will for spoiler shit, like who is left alive for the movie to be about etc. + Show Spoiler + So apparently Naruto is turning into a butch lesbian for the last movie. Also the next movie will be set AFTER the manga has ended. I'm thinking the movie will be our actual time skip to see the aftermath and what has changed. I guess the movie is a spoiler alert seeing as Naruto and basically all the leaf people are alive.
