Could also be the first Hokage, he was the one who beat Madara initially, so Madara should be afraid of his capabilities. Also Orochimaru experimented with cells from the first Hokage, thus he (and Kabuto) might have had access to his body? | ||

I was thinking Sage of the 6 Paths, too, at first. He seems to be the only dead guy strong enough to do anything of importance. Then again, there were a few Rinnegan-bearers who lived before Pain and after the SO6P, so it could be one of them. But really, the most important thing to remember is that Madara wasn't afraid of how powerful the summon was, he was afraid of some secret that Kabuto must have been privvy to in order to get the summon. Kabuto tells him, "Relax, I haven't told anyone about this." So that lends some credence to theories that (a) the summon is Madara's younger brother, or (b) that the summon is Madara himself, and the Madara we know isn't who he claims to be. | ||

Then he tried to make a shadow clone so he could do both at the same time. Itachi scolded him to say that one man can't do everything, and some jobs must be left in the hands of friends. Note that the emotional purpose of this is so Naruto would understand that no matter how powerful he becomes, he has to remain humble and understand that he is only one part of the world. However, the PRACTICAL purpose of this speech was to tell Naruto to go fight the battles and let Itachi handle Kabuto. Which is exactly what he did. So yeah, not sure what you guys are complaining about... Also, who the hell said he appeared miles away in an instant? How do you know that minutes or hours didn't pass? You don't. Part of reading manga/comics is understanding that the passage of time between frames is variable. | ||
