duh
Or it could just be a mindfuck.
I'm going to put my bets on it being an ordinary zombie.
And the reason why Madara thought it was important was because a long time ago, in a flashback that lasts 8 fucking chapters, he meets this little boy who changed his life forever and he was in debted to this bitch of a child, but then one day the boy dies because that's how Naruto comes up with all of its sad stories, and Madara was sad as fuck and decided to go on a rampage and kill everyone that was related to murdering that boy, which coincidentally meant ruining Konoha too, and now Kabuto has revived this little kid that Madara once held dear (for pedo or other whatever reasons that Naruto can come up) and now Madara is under Kabuto's control.
It's the ultimate edo tensei without being an edo tensei.

I think some of you guys are over thinking it. I don't think Kishi will deal with the time dimension, therefore no time travel. No known jutsu deals with going back into time or forward in time, that I know of. It would be cool, but since it is a shounen I don't think it will happen.
On the subject of Kabuto's trump card. My guesses are 1) Izuna (Madara's bro), 2) the real Madara, 3) Sage of Six Paths, or 4) Unknown really strong Ninja in the time of Madara.
One thing that I never understood was the manga says that Madara stole the Izuna's eyes because his Mangekyo Sharingan eyes were becoming blind from overuse. Wouldn't it make sense for Madara and Izuna just to switch eyeballs?? Then they would both have Eternal Mangekyo Sharingans. That would be the most logical solution.

what the hell was the point of the speech then? *angry grumblings*
lol i like this kind of stuff. it makes naruto's story that much more disturbing and goes away from the shonen trend of rainbows and flowers and happiness for everyone (even though this may not be intentional).
same thing with part 1 being about naruto fighting destiny, working hard and destroying arrogant or misguided people with talent/natural skills.
then part 2 comes around and it's all about naruto embracing destiny and utilizing his natural abilities and being arrogant and misguided.
this makes the naruto story very dark, which i'm totally fine with.

I don't see the point of having so many revived ninjas just to have them spread out and fight 1v1 most of the times. If I could do this, I'd group them together, find a formation that works, and cut through the enemy territory like a scalpel. Every strong enemy you kill in battle is going to be a future puppet. I mean he's going for a very specific target, so besides having the plant guy spying everywhere looking for naruto, there's NO reason to wage an spread out war. It's not like he's trying to commit mass genocide, find and surround Naruto with all the legendary ninjas and murder that little prick.

I was thinking Sage of the 6 Paths, too, at first. He seems to be the only dead guy strong enough to do anything of importance. Then again, there were a few Rinnegan-bearers who lived before Pain and after the SO6P, so it could be one of them.
But really, the most important thing to remember is that Madara wasn't afraid of how powerful the summon was, he was afraid of some secret that Kabuto must have been privvy to in order to get the summon. Kabuto tells him, "Relax, I haven't told anyone about this." So that lends some credence to theories that (a) the summon is Madara's younger brother, or (b) that the summon is Madara himself, and the Madara we know isn't who he claims to be.
The Fourth hasn't been sealed away, so he technically could still be summoned but for some reason I don't think it will happen.

The fourth sealed himself along with the kyuubi at the very beginning of the series. I'm leaning towards the guy in the box being the actual madara and the guy who claims to be madara is actually madara's younger brother. From a storytelling perspective this makes a lot of sense, since it closely parallels sasuke/itachi. Since this is a shounen, I wouldn't be surprised at a recurring theme of brotherhood. Maybe it foreshadows that sasuke will be choosing a different path? Or maybe his path was predetermined.

Everyone's probably just waiting for Kabuto's trump card lol
