The one he gave to sasuke reacts with Madara's sharingan and activated the amaterasu. I suspect the one he gave to naruto activates upon seeing sasuke's Sharingan ( Sasuke was too tired out to use his Sharingan from their last encounter, so it didn't activate) naruto would cast a tsukuyomi on Sasuke not to hurt sasuke, but this tsukuyomii would be retelling itachi's past and how itachi suspected madara from the beginning. Possibility number 1 would be after hearing itachi's version of truth, sasuke still pissed off and still wants vengeance, and proceed to fight naruto to another epic draw, and then time skip. Possibility number 2 the story would make a turn for the worse for madara since both naruto and sasuke would team up vs him and atempt own the shit out of him and his pain of the 6 paths. But Madara was too much epic badassness, he managed to kill sasuke and hurt naruto during the fight and then barely get away and then time skip. | ||

Off the top of my head the soul king arc is timing over the span of 3 years alone, remember it's only 1 chapter a week, think how long bleach has been out already and how many opportunities it still has in terms of narrative and content | ||

I guess reading one chapter a week (sometimes not even), really distorts things. | ||
