I mean it's an interesting idea for sure but i don't think it will go down that route. I don't see dragonball exploring something like that (maybe as background information it could still be used though) As i said though, the simple act of destroying all this life simply because of a tournament, that seems evil to me. But dragonball probably doesn't really care to develop that idea either. It's just a plot device. I don't see dragonball going all out with the exploration of "how would godlike creatures act, look at things, etc". People suggesting that there is some sort of angel conspiracy going on, can you point towards all the foreshadowing for that? What is this idea based on.

Yeah, and this is part of why I can't help but remain skeptical. They haven't done a very good job at explaining why that makes even a shred of sense. The angels don't seem to see it as illogical. This idea of "yeah, other universes were erased for being weak, and now some others will too" doesn't seem crazy. There must be more to it than that.
Why is it bad for a universe to be weak? Why is there nothing wrong with erasing a universe? If there is creation and destruction, does Zenoh have a creation counterpart? This whole thing is very incomplete right now and I can't help but think that is intentional.

Can't Goku use Instant Transmission before falling off?

Remains to be seen, but it seems legit. They can't fly, but enemies with wings are allowed to fly. Seems that it is as simple as "you can't use the flying technique" rather than not being able to do anything that shifts your position. Those robots are free to use their hook, for example.
Edit: But wait, time works differently, right? So Hit's technique doesn't work. I kind of wonder if that also invalidates instant transmission. Spacetime...etc...fuck if I know.

I am skeptical, but I can see it. The Grand Priest has had multiple evil looking faces, when universe 9 was erased the angel was openly laughing about it (even though it was a shitty universe and he seemed to hate it too). I think if another Universe gets erased and the angel is smiling I will find it more and more likely something else is going on.
Loving the tournament so far though and looks like it's going to last at least 10 episodes easily (probably longer!)

They probably won't want to waste time concentrating on characters most people don't care about but I hope at least that they would show fighters from other universes eliminate each other instead of just U7 eliminating everybody else. Maybe alternate it with U7 action so people don't get bored.

This is a good point, and I think he should be able to. They showed that there is a Yardat in the tournament, which I'd assume would also use Instant Transmission.

The likes of Jiren, Toppo, Hit and Kale are easily capable of eliminating fighters from other universes. It's not really a battle royale if U7 has to eliminate everybody else.
|
U9 did eliminate one fighter. There were probably others but they didn't get shown due to the U9 vs U7 battle.

So Goku and Vegeta took out almost all of U9 while in SSJ. Freeza took out a U9 guy without trying. U9 dude took out a fairy without much effort. I get the feeling that most of the universes will be garbage and taken out pretty quickly. Remaining ones might be U7, U6 and Pride, maybe one other thrown in there.

Other sayans will have a big showing. Weak freezer will hopefully be fucked by piccolo until freezer backstabs just to get demolished by vegetta, hit will show badassary and pridetroopers will be the final boss.

I don't think Jiren and Hit will be even considering fighting each other until after everyone else is gone.

Jiren vs Hit to show how insanely strong Jiren is would be great. Not sure who'll kick out Toppo.

Yah, but that's what I was hoping for. I'm hoping to see other universes eliminate fighters even if it only takes 1-2 minutes per fighter to build more hype around some of the other non-U7 warriors.

I am absolutely desperate for Frieza to trash Toppo. I want Toppo to get absolutely fucking body slammed and disgraced by Frieza.
But I do also just get the feeling Jiren will destroy Hit. Which is stupid because it shouldn't be a surprise that Hit ALSO trained etc. We shouldn't expect Hit to be only as strong as he was when he lost to Goku. He lost for the first time ever in his 1000 years of life.

If that happened, I'd die from happiness. I still wish the dub would catch up.

^ The dub is going to take at least another year to catch up lol.
I too hope that Jiren faces off against Hit. I'd rather Hit doesn't get destroyed though, a close competition early on where Jiren dominates towards the end. Also, Freiza trashing Toppo would be awesome! It won't happen though, I think.
|
I don't see why Hit wouldn't destroy Jiren tbh. Unless he somehow already knows about Hits ability. Hit destroys people especially when they don't know about his ability.
