Just caught up on the manga. The entire time reading it I felt like there is something going on that makes titans related to humans, or possibly are/were humans. Maybe even different representations of human emotions or something.
+ Show Spoiler +I think it's pretty clear that Connie's town got turned into titans, probably by the "monkey" guy (Whom I agree is probably Eren's dad or related to him in some way). I say this because there is no breach in the wall, yet there were titans inside (but it seems to be a limited amount, most/all of which seem to have been killed at the battle of Utgard castle). It probably was his mother he saw laying on his house (turned into a titan).
As far as what the history behind the kids that can turn into titans, I'm not really sure. I get the sense that they are working for some larger organization (possibly the same organization that runs the wall-worshiping cult) that has some agenda about managing all humanity, possibly through population control. Still a lot of unanswered questions, though. I hope this doesn't turn into some big metaphor thing like "we're all titans inside waiting to be released" or some garbage like that. I'll lose interest pretty quick.

What the fuuck was with that last chapter...
I waited a whole month and got fucking nothing explained. :DD::D:D:D:D:DA:SD::D:S:S:S::S: :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Okay.
Seriously though this getting a bit out of hand. I learnt nothing in the latest chapter except the Monkey Titan is possibly the enemy so far.
And seriously what can drive Annie/Berth/Ryner to eliminate the humans within the wall? You can tell they are forced to do it and are obviously feeling regreted and guilt over this?
Is there some kind of secret organization( the most likely scenario)? Maybe Eren father is part of this fiasco.
And WHERE IS RIVIALLE? Need more screentime please. The definition of pure badass and style.

+ Show Spoiler + Pretty sure the monkey guy can't be Eren's dad. Likely related? Possibly. It's just really clear that the Monkey Dude hasn't been involved with Humanity for a long, long, time -- it's not like 3d gears was a new invention and he had no idea about that (and he'd have seen it).
It's worth looking into their pasts -- they have pretty important flashbacks about that tells them something about their past that I find interesting.
I dunno about "managing all humanity" -- a very important point being the line in this chapter where they ask Ymir if this world has a future. If they're managing all humanity, then I doubt anything like that.
Also, I think the series is actually very heavily metaphorical, starting with the walls and all of that, and that might be the key to analyzing the serie

Im on chapter 18 and fairly certain about these human being rotten to the core. There must be something sketchy with these high authorities. Them titans are most definitely created from human, by human
Cant stop reading really :p

The monkey titan was surprised humans could talk. Pretty sure it's not Eren's daddy.

my theory is that the wall isn't there to keep titans out, it's more like the wall + titans are there to keep humans in. there's bound to be something outside that humans haven't seen in the past 100 years.

I'm actually wondering if maybe there's humanity outside of the walls.

+ Show Spoiler + Pretty sure the answer is yes -- should look into Reiner/Berthold's little flashback and Annie's flash back.

While nobody knows if it was designed to keep the human in, the spoilers on the cover of the manga where people discovered show that + Show Spoiler [major spoiler] +'the walls were there before human arrived', nobody knows how the walls were built in the first place and it was later showed that titans are inside the walls, the religion guy knows something about it. And humans actually escaped from the outside world into the walls. I am not sure did anyone mention that here D: the spoiler seems to be pretty huge but obviously nothing official yet showed in the manga, the hints were given by the creator of course.

I have no idea i read that from jap board. Q_Q and google translate seems messed up. I'll do it roughly,
+ Show Spoiler +Humans were overwhelmed by the power of titans in the war so they were forced to set sail to find a new world most of the humans were dead at this stage but it was caused by human themselves.
there were very few of the nobles who got on the ships and the voyage didn't go well while half of the people went MIA.
the walls existed in the new world, the survivors aim to live a peaceful life inside the walls.

I tried reading this a while back but got some questions I hope you guys can answer.
It was stated multiple times that the titans body (and bodyparts) being extremely light. How come whenever they fall on the ground or against another object, the impacts leave behind huge craters and generated large amount of force?
If the titans are as light as they said, shouldn't the giant titans not be able to move/walk around at all since his the wind would basically make him a giant sail? Why didn't humanity just make giant fans to combat them instead of cannons?

Why didn't humanity just make giant fans to combat them instead of cannons? If the bodies were really that light, no titans should be able to smash down the walls. If they were light, they should not have as much mass as they look. So I'm going to assume this is something the reader has to overlook. Kind of like how heroes can carry a ton of items in a small bag in RPG video games.

I actually liked the manga before they started contradicting things they said over and over. The titans' properties being more obvious but not the only things.
