I can't help but feel a sort of Naruto-esque vibe from reading it, not that that's a bad thing. that's a terrible thing, it means the manga will suddenly go downhill and all emo with eye powers D: This manga is Top 5 manga I've ever read so far though. if this keeps up it'll be one of my favorites, but as with any series with a "big reveal" i feel like we won't know until we get closer to getting to that god damned basement.

I find stories that have a beginning and end, to be much more enjoyable lately than these infinite stories with new power ups constantly. It's okay to do it a few times, but once you reach Naruto/Bleach levels it just becomes hard to watch. I hope this turns out like a Tri-Gun or S-Cry-Ed type story arc. Here's hoping. And damnit I want more... =x

I'm curious where they're going with this though, if too many people can turn into titan's it makes Eren less special, and I want to see where they end up taking this entire series. I wouldn't mind if it ended up being just a single full story, not meant to drag on for 5 years with 600 chapters, but just the story of discovery of what Titans are, how Eren and this generation of soldiers fight their way back out to Wall Maria, and ultimately, with Eren's access to the basement, the truth to it all, and maybe 1 big final fight and resolution to the series. Too many people would make his transformation feel less special but I feel like they are going for a, only certain special people got some vaccination to become a titan, so that it's limited to who has it(and Eren still is a special scenario). That or everyone got the same thing but only certain people have the ability to bring out the titan within them while others would lose their selves in it.

I think the twist is going to be that there are no humans anymore, and hasn't been for a long time. All humans are titans and vice versa. There are those who choose to live a life as humans (hated by those who are titans), and those who are ignorant of either side. The titans that side with the freedom of choice and therefore helping support human survival, are the same ones who ended up sacrificing themselves and sealing themselves as the structures to make up the walls of humanity. For some reason i'm picturing this as something sort of Matrix esque. The remaining humans THINK they live in a world where they are fighting the evil titans, but it's all a farce, and the reality is something much darker, and the titans simply keep the humans alive as sport/food source something. I'm not smart enough to figure it out yet, but I keep getting this impression especially after the latest manga chapters with the religious nuts KNOWING about the titans in the wall, that the government is hiding something from the people... something shocking.

I dunno if it's the hairy titan deviant that changed them to titans but he definitely is an interesting titan lol. Well, maybe vaccination wasn't the right wording to use but I meant his father gave him some injection. I do believe that the injection is to forgot what he told him until a later date but still, kinda unknown what it was for. Your twist is very interesting although we have the matrix already so I hope it ends up being a little less twisty lol On June 05 2013 08:39 ZERG_RUSSIAN wrote: This series is so good. Is the anime worth watching? I don't really wanna watch animated people getting eaten but the plot for the manga is super good. How similar is it? I haven't watched much of the anime but from what I saw, it seems really well done. The animation and music are amazing. Only concern is that it seems to be moving fast especially since the manga is a monthly one.

I've read a lot of interesting theories here and I'd just like to add that + Show Spoiler + I think Eren's dad has a huge part in the origins of Titans, also I'm pretty sure he was aware of the Colossal titan attack 5 years ago thats why he left, it means that he may know Barthold and Reiner.. It might actually be him who gives human titan power, he certainly gave it to Eren at least !

I can't help but feel a sort of Naruto-esque vibe from reading it, not that that's a bad thing. the main character has a super power locked within him by his father. everyone has a tragic backstory. young boys and girls being trained and enlisted into the military. introduction of lots of young characters with interesting personalities. jerkass and bigger jerkass and female badass love triangle but not everyone is aware. female badass is shy and can't spit out her feelings for main character. main character is stubborn but hardworking and determined and seeks to achieve his dream. agile action sequences and humans engaging in mid air combat through 3d gear. main character who has a monsterous curse gets captured by other humans with a monsterous curse, and now his comrades must band together and chase them down and rescue the main character before he gets away in enemy hands. thankfully attack on titan is well written and the creator hasn't sold his soul (yet).
