I don't get it seriously, its a kids show, about ponies, who are all little girls and annoying... And the story? The story is UNBELIEVABLY cheesy and stereotypical for a kids show... There is nothing to like for someone aged 13+ So why do you people like it? :s sorry........i guess. Either you guys are all trolling, and its just a meme... Maybe your soul is too old to like something as silly and pure as a stereotypical show about ponies, but ours aren't. The show has a dedicated website with more than 30M page views so far. On this website, you can find countless, really well written, fan-fictions made by fans to fans of all categories, from "Love" to "Massive Deaths", from "Alternate Reality" to "Hero's Fall" and others. No, it is NOT a trolling nor a meme. This is real, and you should accept its existence, liking it or not. I for one, never smiled and laughed so much since my 13. I really tried, but I was like  through the whole episode (well I did not manage to completely finish it).And I am not anti cartooon, I really love sponge bob for example. But sponge bob is really funny, here there were only very shallow attempts at humor. Oh well, maybe I was just expecting too much because of all the positive responses here or something, but I honestly dont get it. | ||

Nobody starts in the middle of a season of anything else so why start here? in MLP: FiM's case someone who decides to give the show a chance desperately needs the "hook" in his first episode to really want to continue on watching (unless he's forcing himself to), and since it's a Slice Of Life style show the first two episodes of which are even bad at presenting the characters (while a few later ones like ep 13 for instance does a fantastic job at presenting RD, AJ and TS) and doesn't have a continuous storyline at all for the most part, it is actually the best decision to start with the middle of the show and watch ep 13 first, and only THEN go back to the start once you're hooked enough to ignore some eps being of worse quality | ||

Suited for success (episode 14) would be a better at showing of MLP`s deeper themes and added depth. | ||

It basically says "this show is brilliant, don't believe me? It has a cult following." ... I might just be a bit pessimistic, but if someone hates ep 7 I doubt the show is for them or that they would change their mind after a different episode. After all, a good show shouldn't require the absolute best episode to drag someone in. Not every good show is about cartoon ponies though, so it might not apply here, but still. The notable posts? ...No? I don't visit 4chan or anything of the sort, so there's nothing to fit in to, unfortunately.  Or at least nothing I was aware of when I watched it, I learned of Equestria Daily etc. only afterwards.I actually started watching the show after seeing a few pics of it on a finnish site. Looked interesting and it seemed to have a fanbase so I gave it a go and watched up to the newest episodes. | ||

It indeed was like that. 4chan tried to troll people, but didn't realize people would actually enjoy it, and now it is what it is now. Good luck with your blood/serial killer series, I prefer to be happy and smile at cute series rather than cry and get horrified at gore series. Also, IMO, the only way for someone to actually enjoy it correctly is to watch from 1 to 7 straight up, and with an open mind. Someone who goes 'this show is horrible and I'll watch it to prove my point' won't like it ever. And I do believe 1/2 are good introductory episodes. | ||

It stands to reason that the majority, even those who are flutteshy fans would not like the episode very much if this was their first episode of the show. I agree with the above poster that it would be better if they watched from episode one. | ||
