RD was easily my favorite pony, so I decided to watch an extra episode long after I was supposed to go to sleep. Simply put, it blew me away. And the rest is history. I also don't know how I completely missed this thread, but I'm definitely glad that I found it. On an unrelated note, when I got home after finishing my exam yesterday, I was literally jumping around my house like Twilight in Cutie Mark Chronicles. So, I guess that means you can add me to the list of fans. Hope to see you all more! Hm, I wouldn't have expected so many positive responses to today's episode. I guess I just hated the concept of it. Either way, I think more interaction between the mane 6 (even between just two of them) brings much, much better results than solo episodes like these (that was a problem with the Mare Do Well episode as well). Also, come to think of it, today's episode had about the same moral as Applebuck Season. | ||

I'd rank this episode somewhere in the middle of season 2 so far, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I think this is one of the best episodes in the series that features one character for the majority of the episode. Also, that part near the end where it kind of turns into a horror film was great! | ||

+ Show Spoiler [thoughts on new episode] + I loved the new episode. The pacing was awesome, the visuals made up for lack of dialogue, and ponies being able to have babies other than the type they are is now canon! (explains Dinky Doo). Pinkie's slow decent into stress and frustration was interesting to watch (was waiting on Pinkanema to appear. Didn't happen bah) and random as she is, she sucks at stand up comedy XD. I'm honoured to know that my mission at BlizzCon is still paying off to this day. As for Sonic Rainboom, yeah, I already liked the show, but that's the episode that really made a huge fan out of me. + Show Spoiler + this was a pretty good episode but it felt very my the same as applebuck season just with some pinkie pie flair. The episode was pretty decently paced and it had all the silly gags that you would expect from a pinkie episode. I liked how were saw a more serious side from pinkie pie. I did not like how the episode flowed from one gag to another with very little dialogue but i guess that's unavoidable when you are dealing with babies who cant talk. also i am soooo glad they did not keep the design of the baby from the mysterious mare do well episode, this episode would have made me puke if they did also welcome to the herd n00b! | ||

So anyhow, we were breaking away at the ceiling, and since I didn't know really what to talk about, so I talked about MLP:FiM. About the show (my mom remembers my sister watching it when we were younger, unsuccessfully try to tell her it's different ), the cult behind it, and how a big part of its viewership is males in age varying from 13 to 35 years old. Probably not the smartest statistic to mention, because she then gave me a weird look and asked me what is really going on with this show. Talk about it a bit more, then let it go. Fast forward to lunch time. We were at my grandfather's place, and he's a major American sports fan (baseball, american football, basketball and the likes) and since we are Canadian, most of the networks aren't offered here. Therefore, he had purchased a satellite dish and has most of the American channels on his TV. He was out, so my mom let me choose what to watch. She proposed MLP:FiM since I seemed so much into it, so I looked around. I check the guide, and checked for family networks. Hmmm.. The five channels of Nickleodeon, the three of cartoon network, a younger children's channel showing Caillou and... The HuB! YAY! It was even airing MLP:FiM at the time! I was hoping it wasn't the latest episode, because it was already 12:40, and I'd hate to be missing a part of the plot. The episode was Sisterhooves Social. I, for one, don't think any episode starring Rarity is a good starter episode, because Rarity is a character you learn to love, you can't just love her at first glance (the fashionista stereotype is rather bland). Anyhow, we watch the episode for a bit, I check her reactions. She smiled a bit, but nothing really big. After about 10 minutes, she goes: "It's cute, I guess, but not that great. Why don't you turn it over to Caillou?" There you have it folks, Caillou is better than My little Pony. Notes: + Show Spoiler + We didn't finish the episode, but I didn't switch over to Caillou either, because how often do I get to watch MLP on TV? We went back downstairs to keep working on the basement. Btw, my mom loves Disney movies and some children shows, like Caillou, so no big surprise there for me. Still kinda disapointed she didn't like it much, but I might try again another time | ||

+ Show Spoiler + I liked the episode, a lot, actually, it was fun, light-hearted, fairly sweet, exactly what I come looking for in MLP. The animation for the baby ponies was actually good, and this shows a side of pinkie we don't usually see, she may be party obsessed, but she has another side, she hungers for approval, (which is surprisingly fitting with party of one). Solid episode, I can say it one of the episodes in season 2 that I've most enjoyed. At this point we need a fluttershy episode though, we've seen next to nothing from her this season. Overall 9.5/10, a very solid single pony episode, and it has a very relevant moral. Also, welcome 1337n00b (could you have a more stereotypical gamer name :-P) | ||
