Perhaps also mention that he should read the entire OP of the thread + check the fanlist if he's really skeptical. And that although it's an entirely character-driven show (he seems to prefer shows with overarching storylines), and even though he's apparently been really busy and tired these days, it's extremely calming, refreshing and heartwarming to watch, and the messages of the show resonate really well with what he's been teaching us in dailies like his Ask Me Anything and 100th ones about his life philosophy, so he might consider giving it a fair chance. And yeah, in your e-mail to Seth, summarize what a huge opportunity this is and ask for advice. He might even mention it in one of the Nightly Round-ups. Also there might already be a BlizzCon brony meet-up being planned by non-TLers. | ||

Obsessed may not be the best word for it, I don't mean anything pejorative. I just... um... I don't know, I feel like I don't really belong in here. I don't anticipate so much for new episodes, like you do, I don't read fanfics (they are soo long and I am a slow reader), like you do, I don't adore Luna, Discord or any other foreground or background pony, in degree you do, I don't like most of YouTube pony content, like you do (although some of videos are really good), I don't feel d'awwwness as much as you. I don't think the show is genius, there are other better than that. From my perspective I'm the only who thinks like that, and for some weird reason I'm bothered by that... | ||

Dont be bothered by it, everything that has a fandom assoicated with it has different levels of fandom, from people who just participate and are meh about the whole deal to people who are hardcore about it. In a very fitting comparison, look at team liquid: There are the lurkers who browse and read the occassioal thread, the people who play sc2 and only glance at the forums every so often. People who are active in the community (posting a lot, etc) but who only play a litte, people who are hardcore contributors, people who spend hours editing liquipedia, etc. The thing is, you pretty much only hear from the most vocal/contributory/obsessed members of the community because they are the ones who care the most. Its just a matter of how much you enjoy something. Like back when I played WoW I browesed EJ, but I never cared enough to post/contribute because to me WoW was a fun game, not anything I had passion for. You can still enjoy ponies without being hardcore about it, or thinking its the best thing ever. Fake edit: wow, I ramble, I feel like this post doesn't actually explain anything... Better to take things in excessive strides than to sit back and do what you are doing. A pool of pony, most of us plundge right in. You know what, thats perfectly ok. Yes some people get more involved in the fandom than others and any level of participation is perfectly ok (even none). Everyone is allowed to enjoy the show (or not) in their own way and you shouldn't be bothered by that and think you're different. Whether or not you're as sucked in as some of us, we're still happy to have you here. And you're probably not alone, but hanging out on the section of the forum where TL bronies hang out you'll probably run into some of the more passionate of us :-). | ||

I actually tried the fanfics, but they're usually too long and convulted (I do sometimes end up reading the silly comedy ones, though, especially if it is just one chapter). The youtube stuff is meh. I do love the pics and comics in this thread, though! | ||
