No, this is not a joke/trolling thread. We don't need more filler posts asking if it is.
Remember to spoiler season 6 content, and clearly label your spoilers. |

Discord: "...because I don't turn ponies into... stone."
He's implying he does turn ponies into something. He turns them into little grayed out trolls! lol. But I think it might confirm the theory that he's not actually manipulating any of the ponies, he's transforming them while trying to manipulate Twilight. Also, if RD did not leave of her own will, but rather his will, that means the game is probably still on. But if the game is still on, that means Twilight could screw it up by using magic... unfortunately magic is always her plan A instead of plan B
+ Show Spoiler +I took that as "I don't turn ponies into stone... unlike celestia. She turns her enemies to stone and banished her sister for 1000 years, I just make cotton candy clouds. Who's really the evil one here?" There wasn't anything else in this episode that expanded on that, but There was the seemingly out of place line from RD about "I'll always be loyal to the princess" so maybe it will be expanded upon next episode?
I also interpreted that; I thought of it as a double meaning.
It is really freaking weird how fast my thoughts can go, and then afterward I don't remember half of them.

I think new visitors to the thread will not understand and thus skip over any spoilery posts, and then forget about them by the time they get to episodes... but maybe not. Regardless, I'd be fine with spoilering everything

On September 18 2011 07:04 TheRealPaciFist wrote:+ Show Spoiler +I feel like the Rainbow Dash scene just didn't make any sense. Her dilemma had nothing to do with loyalty or disloyalty: she has ties to both her friends in Ponyville and her cloud city. The choice to stay on the hunt for the elements of harmony is not necessarily any better or worse than the choice to go to the cloud city, assuming it actually is in danger - and RD is not the kind of pony to see through deception easily. + Show Spoiler +Discord doesn't care about the "game" or the ponies' internal conflicts. He only manipulates them as means to an end; To drive their friendship off the cliff so he can take over without risking undesirable genre-related complications, and having the loyal Dash they trusted take the blame for undoing all of their efforts and dooming the world was just the cruel last nail in the coffin.

New episodes are different since not all legit fans are able to watch them live.
BRUCE WILLIS WAS DEAD ALL ALONG?!
+ Show Spoiler +Regarding the show ^_^ So, about RD. She is loyal first and foremost to the Princess, as should any subject in any kingdom. She answers first to the Princess then to her Friends(although one could argue that RD would answer first to her friends). Discord basically cheated by putting her in a situation where she had to chose between friends and her old hometown(which makes me wonder: why doesn't she live there anymore?), just like he cheated with Fluttershy by magically brainwashing her unlike with other ponies. Well, not that there were any rules at all, but you get the point. Also, anyone noticed how twilight got Knighted? Just before leaving, Celestia does the motions for knighting Twilight, as some kind of bless. Sir Twilight Sparkle. I don't know if there is a term for female Knights, but this name is funny

I meant to say we were putting stuff in spoilers for old episodes so we should always put plot details in spoilers. Sorry Nah, reading it again it looks like it's me that screwed up. I didn't get any sleep last night because of SC2 tournaments and the season opening, apart from an hour catnap I had not too long ago, so I just brainfarted. Sorry. =(
+ Show Spoiler +Also great catch on the underlying meaning. The climax of this episode should be great.

I think RD does live in cloudsdale. If I have my lore correct, fluttershy is the only pegasus that lives in ponyville.

+ Show Spoiler + The thing with Rainbow Dash is that she breaks the pattern. He got (or forced?) Applejack to lie, he got (or forced?) Pinkie Pie to lose her laughter for scorn, and he forced (no ?) Fluttershy to be mean instead of kind. However, all he did to Rainbow Dash was manipulate her to go away, thus supposedly breaking the rules to his own game.
It's not that DISCORD needs to maintain a pattern, after all he loves chaos. It's the SHOW that was trying to maintain the pattern, and it seems to have failed.
However, this was before I read the theory that the only pony he's trying to manipulate is Twilight. From Twilight's POV, Rainbow Dash DID break her loyalty, and thus the pattern holds.

ALRIGHT. IT. IS. ON.
Speculation about future time! I'know, watching the episode a second time, getting what I missed.
+ Show Spoiler +Discord's enigma was:
To retreat your missing Elements Just make sense with this change of events.
Twists and turns are my master plan, then find the Elements back where you began.
Twilight assumes "Twists and turns" is the labyrinth because it is the first thing in front of her. Celestia doesn't even care to think about it.
"Twists and turns" is what Discord did to each pony, making them reverse their personalities. Twilight has to understand exactly what happened(make sense with this change of events), and when she fixes everypony, go back to the castle and find the elements on the treasure box Celestia had them in the first place.
In fact, they never disappeared. Discord is the master of deception supposedly, so yeah the Elements were just invisible.
Also, the more I think about it, the more Discord looks like The Joker.

+ Show Spoiler [speculation is FUN] + We don't really know the circumstances. Might be, for example, that she intended Luna to escape when she did, and she just screwed up a little, but corrected it by the end. Or maybe Lunda was never a Nightmare, but rather the entire thing was an act in order to test the elements of harmony and/or test Twilight and her friends. Although... that couldn't be possible unless she could foresee Twilight happening to befriend just the right people that day. Maybe Celestia has some sort of fortune telling power. Or maybe any group of friends can create the correct configuration for the elements, so long as the friendship is real enough - but then, if Celestia was planning this out, she'd have to bank on Twilight happening to start real friendships right then and there, again unlikely without some sort of fortune telling.
Hell, maybe the elements of harmony have a mind of their own.
Or maybe Luna's the one pulling the strings, and Celestia is only the Papa Raith puppet king.
Edit:
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow @ the comic
