watching the previous seasons will get you acquainted with the different characters of the show. However I wouldn't say that it is necessary but definitely worth your while to try to catch up. There's usually one over arching storyline per season and the start of season 8 is sorta of tying up the end of s7 and continuing on

This is one of my favorite shows ever. I just watched the new episode earlier tonight and thought it was pretty good.

I can't believe the big tease they did with having Larry get back together with Cheryl at the end of last season, only to have them instantly break up again. it was pretty funny though lol. and the scene with the tampon was hilarious.

Was an OK opening episode for curb standards, but even that is still really funny =D (better than most shows on TV).

So I tried watching season one the first episodes but felt it wasn't really for me. Is it worth trying to watch the later seasons or is it pretty much if you don't like the earlier episodes you won't like it?

From what I gather, it's really a show that you either love or hate. I loved it from the first episode, but it does get better when you start to connect with Larry's character more.

Well CYE doesn't really have a proper story. It's more of an improv show.

Some episodes might not be your cup of tea while others will have you on the floor laughing.

Do you like Seinfeld? If so, the 7th season is amazing. For the rest, you will probably find laughs at many spots even if its not too appealing to you, but really each episode plays out in a pretty similar fashion.

Try watching at least 4-5 episodes, it's just a different type of humour. Rather than using one liners, the comedy from curb comes from the actual awkward situations and witty dialogue.
