Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book.

What kind of North American deer besides the moose is even close to 800 lbs? Don't exaggerate like that. What kind of person with absolutely no understanding of how bullets work acts like he does? Bullets (not just hollow point) are known to fragment in the primary target, it's not unreasonable for one to pass through one target and fragment in the next, even if it's small, due to the reduction in velocity. Also getting tired of the pace, it's rather slow and the search is just annoying now.

As for the pacing.. What the hell would YOU do in a zombie apocalypse? Stay at a lovely secluded family house for or keep going through a half-blocked highway? I'm not saying that the show is very realistic (neither is a zombi apocalypse), but logic suggests that you shouldn't move on unless you really run out of supplies/nearby places to get supplies from. My biggest complaint is the religious undertones. Seriously, half of the first episode was wasted on it. Okay, cool, I can live with that. But noo, it's back in episode 3 too. It's very boring. At least boardwalk empire/dexter don't necessarily display the "good" side of it only.

I think my problem with that whole scene was how melodramatic it was. Rick is cool with his kid just wondering up to an adult male 200 lb deer. Then Ottis shoots through a deer at just the right angle to (a) go through the deer and (b) hit a kid with just enough velocity to both shatter the bullet in the kid AND not have an exit wound AND miss all the vital organs of the kid. Ottis, who must be a decent enough hunter for Rick/Shane not to hear him has such terrible hearing that he cant hear 2 adult humans just walking around in the woods. This whole season has been slow, unnecessarily religious, hyper-melodramatic.

How you act in front of people and in isolation are two different things. So let me get this straight, because people act different in "isolation" that causes Shane to shoot Otis, even though through virtually the whole episode they were with each other and Shane gave absolutely no indication of doing something like that. Now let's go back to my original point of me saying he flip-flopped his character by helping Otis all episode, to even offering to sacrifice himself so Otis could escape with the medical equipment. Which is a very selfless and noble act. To quickly turn-coating and shooting Otis to save himself as well as the boy. I can't even believe you said it was "To make himself look good", ugh. I can honestly see why it was done, but the fact of the matter the character actions just don't add up. At all. One could argue it was out of desperation given the circumstances but I feel that's just an attempt to grab at straws up to this point. These writers are garbage. The dialogue is so terrible sometimes it makes me cringe. The drama is embarrassing to watch at times and it's extremely annoying in most cases. Just everything is so bad. Maybe I'm being too harsh, maybe I'm not. Yet I'm still holding on that hope (albeit false) that this show gets better.

Ha, was thinking he should just plug one in Otis to save himself and the kid--and then it happened! I'm a horrible person Show still seems to be a bit directionless. Although I guess in a zombie apocalypse that's pretty much your life. It's funny how the redneck is the smartest one in the whole group. I guess moral vanity doesn't get you anywhere when the zombos come.

I didn't expect that kind of ending but still, so much unnecessary crying and drama. That zombie hanging was a good scene though, gotta love the red neck.

This is a TV drama set in a zombie apocalypse, I dont get why you all cant understand this and keep crying "no zombies no zombies!!" and "bad acting, too much drama" ...its a drama? EDIT: Just before people start bashing me and screaming "nooo dude it isnt a drama, its all about zombies!!" - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1520211/ Read the description of it - Drama, Horror, Thriller. It has to be classified under "horror" and "thriller" because it makes weak minds get scared and jump out of their skins when the zombies come into the equation - just ask my fiance.

I don't think too many people are arguing this... the problem is, the drama half of things can be pretty cringe-worthy at times. Not necessarily bad acting, but bad writing. "He talked about the deer. He talked about the deer." Also the whole Dale/Andrea thing is getting very stale and seems directionless, and I'm actually in the minority that still likes both characters. And this is a very minor nitpick, but the actress playing Lori was driving me crazy last night. During the scene outside where she was talking to Rick about Carl's future, she spent half the scene with her hand covering her mouth. It looked stupid and very unnatural... it was all I could focus on. ![]()

I really like Daryl. He's the one with the coolest attitude and always has a level head in every situation. It'd be interesting to see they ever show him under pressure. But he doesn't seem like that. And he always helps everyone. Anyway. I'd like to see more Glenn, you could get some really interesting shit out of him. He seems resourceful. He's Korean too, added bonus for some reason. Shane is by far one of the most interesting characters. His move of killing Otis shocked me at first. But when you think about it... it sort of makes sense. They were both so slow, it was possible that the zombies would get 'em both. Sacrificing Otis was a "good" solution. It let Shane escape to deliver the meds. Since Otis is the one who get them in that mess to begin with, maybe he felt it was justified. Either way, he had to chose between Carl and Otis, and that decision was made. Shane was put in a tight spot and while he may seem like an asshole he actually limited the damage done (had they both died..) and potentially saved Carl's life. I actually feel for Shane, he's a good guy. ![]()

I feel like everything that has happened in these 3 episodes they could've crammed into one episode. Alot more action in the previous season. Still like it though.
