Discussing the show and past episodes is fine. Do not put things that have happened in the TV series in spoilers. However, don't spoil things from the books that may happen in future episodes. Put book spoilers in spoiler tags with a CLEAR WARNING that it is from the book.

The whole marriage thing with Glen and Maggie, basically makes me think one of them will get it, almost like a last goodbye type thing.

Does the coming fight happen in the comics? obviously give no details whether the answer is yes or no (because it'd be considered spoilers), but I'm wondering how much the series is following the books still. I'm wondering who (if anyone) will die in the coming fight.

I'm wondering who (if anyone) will die in the coming fight. The show usually follows the comic's main events. Even then, there can be plenty of differences between the comic and show versions of just one event. Often times, a different character does something in the show version of the event or it happens in a different part of the story. A few things from the comics that happened in the show + Show Spoiler + -The battle in the next episode -Glenn and Maggie getting married -Rick seeing Shane as a zombie -Governor losing an eye -Rick seeing Morgan

Although, we all kind of felt he was going to bite the dust (at least I did).

as I think/read about the episode more the less I'm enamored with how contrived it was to get merle to that meeting/out of the prison with michonne, but it was something like 10 minutes of rick tediously entertaining the notion of the deal for 20-30 minutes of legitimately good dialogue and good action. it's really sort of a repeat of the morgan episode, where it happens in a vacuum and it feels a bit hand-wavy but man, is it better than the alternative where we spend entire episodes with andrea/crazy rick.

I don't care if merle was woozy. I still don't see the governor as a tough guy when it comes to fighting. He does all his violence with guns and shit or with people tied up, not one on one fights. Agreed. I know that they are saving his death for later, but I find it hard to believe that he can overpower Merle so easily.

Hmmm, how I watched the episode I thought Merle was committing suicide/death by cop. The men he killed weighed on his conscience too much and he knew there was no going back to a normal life. He wanted to somewhat redeem himself and go out with a bang. So I don't think he had either the physical or mental strength left to fight for his life.

Yes i'm pretty sure what they were going for there was Merle purposely getting himself killed - he was looking for a 'way out' all episode(with the drinking/drugs things) as the current situation wasn't working for him. Daryl wanted him to redeem himself, and he ended up killing himself doing something half 'redeeming'(i guess), which is why Daryl was so angry at Merle's zombie - he knew Merle had given up. Thoughts on the whole episode are that it mostly sucked as per usual, but the Daryl/zombie Merle scene was quite good.
