Only thing that sort of bothers me is that if they caught Sophia and put her in the barn like they did those other two zombies towards the end of the episode, wouldn't Hershel let Rick know as soon as Rick found out about the barn that they found a little girl that matched her description? I mean even before they found out about the barn, he could have mentioned that he found a little girl walker but they just didn't kill her confirming that she's dead without giving the barn away. That's really the only thing that bothered me, everything else was really well done. | ||

There's a good chance Hershel didn't know that Sophia was captured as it was perhaps Otis who dealt with it. Hershel is old so I'd reckon it would be Otis and the young chap who would be doing the handling. That or the capturing with Rick was a test to see where his intentions lied. There's a chance Hershel would have told Rick after they had captured the two from the river. Obviously Hershel wouldn't tell Rick before as he wouldn't know how the group would react. Hershel was clearly hoping the group would give up on the search and move on, if he knew about Sophia at all. | ||

I'm guessing Hershel did know about Sophia being there but didn't tell them because everyone will find out about the secret which will lead to what just happened in the last episode. Hopefully they will give a good explanation in the next episode. | ||

He mentioned that Otis was the one that was in charge of leading Walkers in before, and Otis died before they ever heard about Sophia. Makes sense. | ||

If you're fine with lots of potential major spoilers for the future of the TV show then I'd recommend the comics without hesitation. I'm not a comic buff at all but I really enjoy the series. | ||
