That is NOT a good movie.. The fact that all the action happens in a single room and it's nothing but dialogue does not automaticly make for an amazing movie! Just because it is indie or strange does not change the fact that the subject of the movie is pure shit. Very much like "Begotten". Another sorry excuse for a movie that wants itself to be symbolic but dosen't have any kind of subtility.. At first, I thought Iwould enjoy the movie but when he starts going from Buddha (wich, in reality, is not even a person, but a state) to Jesus, I was ripping my hair from my head! There are some good, sublime, dialogue only movies (Waking Life comes to mind), but THIS IS NOT IT! The Daikatana of indie movies... Nough' said!

Yeah I watched Man From Earth and was just not impressed at all. The setting didn't really make it boring to me though. I was fine with it. Just the general story of it and the ending... ugh.

Heh, i browsed through the imdb reviews and apparently people either love it or think it's the worst piece of crap ever made. Guess they did something right since it's not mediocre When he is referring to Buddha he's obv talking about Siddhārtha Gautama aka Gautama Buddha

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0144168/ Dick! It's so funny, even though it looks like something really stupid that only dumb teenage girls would watch, it's historically accurate very generally, obviously the story takes many liberties with what really happened. Everyone I know who saw it thinks this movie is really funny (including males and adults), I think it must have suffered from bad marketing/promotion or something because it deserves a lot better than it got IMOIMO

Its one of those movies you want to re-watch immediately just after watching, and again and again... so deep yet so simple. For psychedelic trips Enter the Void is great(mentioned few times here). I've seen this movie ages ago, its very powerful and moving. Feel like re-watching it.

They are puffing on cigarettes pretty much the whole movie and it just made me want to chain smoke. The acting was terrible, and the plot had so many holes in it. This movie was just bad. + Show Spoiler + The twist at the end was so retarded that I had to kick a baby to vent my frustration. I mean really, it's all in his head? What a waste of time. I took the end as the twist wasn't ALL in his head. They were leading him off to try the experiment again and doing more medical experiments on him. It was kind of posted a while ago, but just in case you read this thread,+ Show Spoiler + the way i interrupted it was that he was being led away to be killed. They stated before that the dramatization they were doing was a last ditch effort form of extreme therapy to try and cure him or else he would be killed since he was too violet even for their institute. Also based off of his final statement to me it seemed like he actually had been cured and hadn't actually slipped back into his old formula but rather was pretending wanted to die realizing what he had done.

I went through the imdb reviews of people who rated it low, and 1 thing I noticed was that a lot of them assumed that since it's a dialogue only movie (which it's not, the acting and lots of other stuff is there too lol), it would have to be super "meaningful" and "deep". I think it's just a nice time killer movie with an interesting setting and good execution from the actors and director. It doesn't need to have a message and it isn't symbolic. Waking life, on the other hand, is exactly your pseudo-intellectual waste of time hipster-movie.

Okay. I'm one of "those people" who decided to lost around 2h and check out whole thread. From the very beginning. Seriously, people, I don't even care that some halfwits are posting avatar, limitless, hannibal, a-team etc, we can just ignore it and move on without even bothering with comment as those are obviously movies everyone heard of. But! Please, for christs sake, at least let's have enough decency to scroll down last 10 pages or so before posting. I think I saw 18 posters with "The Man from Earth", 11 posters with "Moon", 7 posters with "The Host". Not counting quotations, obviously. Some "original" posters are so original, that they're posting the same movie one page later. I get it, some films (like mentioned "Moon" , I loved it when it came out and I got my hands on retail) are worth repeating few times, reposting etc, but at least let's give 'em ~10 pages cooldown. Proposition from me: "Repo men", the movie from last year. Dunno about US, but in EU we knew shit about it. Great photos, actually briliant idea for story and future world setting, good ending. In my opinion only acting was lacking, but still decent enough to not screw every other aspect up. Good showing of Alice Braga though, and the role of Jake was perfect for Forest Whitaker. And if anyone jumps out with "herp derp you like it because it's got gore" just.. go back and watch it again, until you see other aspects of the movie. On of finest sf films without CG bullshit since I watched "Gattaca". Posters: IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1053424/ Edit: PS Forgot to mention, after weeding out what I saw, what is clearly crap and what is reposted non stop, I still ended up with 16 - at least decent with potential to be awesome - movies. Will come again.
