It's actually surprisingly well written, and you're going to have to think just a little bit at the ending.

Funny, but also quiet and heart warming german movie, that took away my fears of growing older.

I really enjoyed American: The Bill Hicks Story, as I'm a massive Hicks fan. It hasn't garnered much commercial success and I haven't seen it mentioned on this thread, so if you're looking to watch a bittersweet doc about the life and death of one of the most influential comedians to ever take the stage, you should by all means watch this film.

Max is a fictional history about Hitler's transformation from artist/ex-WWI soldier to politican and how an art exhibitionist (John Cusack) pushes him to find his "voice." Very powerful film and the performances are astounding! This movie is really fun to watch. I was surprised, and the dialogue is great. You don't have to like pool to enjoy this movie and it has f-ing Christopher Walken. American Psycho is in my top 5 of all time I'd say. I always heard about it and brushed it off as another crappy thriller, but the screenplay is adapted from a well respected book and Christian Bale shows us why he is one of America's top actors.

I thought the underdog films were Kick Ass, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Both movies, I was very reluctant to go (more like dragged by my friends). But I was absolutely thrilled with both! I thought Scott Pilgrim was gonna be another angsty teen film because Michael Cera was in it, but it was a visual delight and with an engaging cheesy story haha, so odd. I thought Kick Ass was a pretty different kind of superhero film. Not the Dark Knight level, but it's got an interesting combination of violence and comedy which I liked For fans of Inception, I highly recommend Nolan's other film Memento. It's a mindfuck.

Inside Job A documentary of the 2008 financial crisis by Charles Ferguson. One of the best documentaries I have seen on any subject, and it happens to be on a subject of great relevance.

Memento was going to be mine XD I also really enjoyed the Butterfly Effect (despite Kutcher's presence), Being John Malkovich, and Minority Report. Oh, and an old favorite of mine is Double Jeopardy :D

Really great rock-opera splatter movie with an excellent cast (yes, even paris hilton. She pretty much played herself in this movie, which worked), very unique (and cool) visual designs, and great music. It's got an excellent sense of humor too, such as when Paris Hilton's character bombs her musical debut when her face falls off and she is booed off the stage. Even if you don't like musicals, I can't recommend it enough. I generally hate musicals, and this is one of my favorite movies.

Known actors, sure, but it's pretty hidden as far as gems go. Seems the full thing is on youtube right now (it was distributed for free at some point so maybe it's legal but I would watch it asap in case it's eventually taken down).

I went in without any real expectations and left it wondering why the fuck I hadn't heard of it. It's up there amongst my favorite films, and I am not a huge fan dramas in that vein. Well, I wasn't and now I feel like I'm missing out. Oh and this, my greatest secret. On June 24 2011 20:18 absalom86 wrote: I <3 Stardust.

It's still rather easy to understand... + Show Spoiler + The last dimension he stays connected to is just a separate world (the message he sends out doesn't matter except in his). But none of this makes any sense because the other world is just supposed to be a computer simulation, making it impossible for it to traverse time/dimensions as the movie portrays - not that the scientist doesn't explain about the dimensions, but you can't have both a simulation and another universe..

Both Scott Pilgrim and Kick-Ass are adapted from comic books. You should definitely check out Kick-Ass in comic form, it's great. Scott Pilgrim... I'd suggest borrowing the first one before committing to the series, it's not for everyone.
