I am upset by the poor showing of the EU teams thus far. They lost games. :p
I am honestly surprised by the Chinese teams though, expected them to do better.

Ehome played pretty badly the whole time. RNG came out really flat against Forward and never took away anything they were doing, thus they got run over by some hard carries. I'd still favor RNG to come out of the lower bracket, but Bo1s get wild.
Favor NiP over Alliance, simply because Alliance kind of has 1 thing they do and that can be countered if you protect your carry.

Ehome doing badly isn't that surprising I guess. Standins do that pretty often.
|
Weren't we allowed to tie streams to live events previously ? I know I did it some time ago, but I can't seem to find the option again...
|
RNG losing against Majestic. First in group, but then losing against FG and Majestic. Quite surprising, but Majestic is really having a good tournament. Glad to see that SA is getting more and more competitive.
|
Gambit itemized badly. Those utility items that Ehome had won them the game.
|
Draft early damage, win early team fights, take towers. Majestic is having a great tournament. Look forward to seeing Boom again.

Shouldn't ember lose against underlord mid?
|
these casters are being pretty stupid right now, you don't buy radiance against TB because of reflection, how is that not even a thing you consider
|
430 and xiao8 ? what year is it ?

It's either questionable draft by FWD against EHOME or just bad teamshot calling. I think they should have given up on face to face teamfight and instead splitpushing to force ehome to split their force. FWD lineup has big potential for split pushing with prophet and ember picks.
Shame their run ended by EHOME which in my opinion the weakest team in this tournament. I really wish Lower bracket shouldn't have BO1 past round 1.
|
FWD let Spectre get away on less than 5% health twice, which rapidly accelerated her farm. If they'd gotten those kills, they'd have gotten at least some rax afterwards and would have been in a place where Underlord can't do so much work in the team fights. You need a Silver Edge against him.
Ehome took a page from what RNG had been doing, which was getting really tanky. In a Bo1, good wave clear and super tanky is a very safe approach.

RNG top in the top but also is the first been eliminated. So the system means u can simply play at group stage but pay more attention during elimination stage. And juz discard the group stage to save everyone time

^ no bkb Lina lost them the game for the most part.
|
I don't think Lina pos4 had the luxury for BKB. MSS spent half of golds on sentry and dust which kinda made him fall behind in usefulness.

I think whoever wins this match wins the minor. NIP and [A] seem the most serious teams by a good margin

Lizzard doesn't quite understand the way pro games go with Alchemist right now. Alliance is in a bad, bad spot.

Why are the casters not mentioning how much of a god PPD has been in this game with his saves?

Well, NiP is playing really well, so everyone is doing great. 33 was kiting like mad and they couldn't get a hold of Fata. This game was actually over around minute 10, frankly. NiP killed everyone else's farm but Alchemists, as Alch isn't can't hard carry against a draft that supports a Medusa. It also helps that Fata had himself a game and the Tide was broke for most of it.
|
So people want ccnc instead of Fata on NiP...

NiP going to another major. A top 8 at Disneyland probably secures them TI9 too.

Sometimes, you just get Meepo'd.

Realistically, they were always going to make TI just off the 4th place in the first Major. Though it's nice to see them finally playing well.

They didn't qualify for Mars Major.

I've waited a while to see nip come together like this. Very, very satisfying. They always had that potential if they learned how to mix things up.

NiP still has to protect Ace in the draft phase because teams generally understand how to hurt his farming patterns, but it's nice to see their team fight starting to come together. It seems like NiP is finally figuring out how their pieces work together, which is mostly about finding abusive farmers to use the pos 6 approach from ppd to get 1 item ahead on their cores. That let's them win a team fight and take an objective. Spent all season watching them run out of damage, so it's nice to finally see them drafting more.
|
I think Ace played really well this tournament. Feeling like to much blame has been put on him, feel like Fata has had many bad games this season. Not to say Ace has been outstanding this season. Yeah its nice to see NiP playing well but still this is a minor, so want to see them win it and go on to preform well in major. Find this a strange tournament, teams taking games from each other left and right in group stages only to have stomps in playoffs matches. Really hard to judge strength of team other then EU seem to be strongest.

Their playstyle is predictable but cannot be punished by most of the teams. At least not at this level, I Am pretty sure that VP, LGD, Secret and maybe Liquid (if they are in form) can easily punish this playstyle.
