they way i understand the whole chinese new year thing is it also the period of changing players. so an event shortly before (like dac) suffers from a lot of unmotivated teams because they dont have the highest motivation to practice with a team that is going to change in 2 weeks anyway + internal conflicts due to it. thats why the chinese teams performed so terribly at dac. this time around there are only very few changes during chinese new year and the majors are after it anyway.
so, ehome just flat out sucked today. which can happen, but blaming chinese new year of it is a bit short sighted. i mean cdec performed well within expectations.

Ehome looked bad, though not sure whether they looked much worse than they did at MDL, because the games then were pretty bad, too, as we all said at the time.
But the obvious change from MDL to now is the performance of other teams, such as Secret, who looks to have improved, and the Koreans, who look to have improved several times over.
Were this to hold for other Western teams, then this tournament is already decided - the Chinese are going to lose, the West is going to win, with the Koreans having a shot at taking it too but not necessarily a big one because Secret is, after all, not even one of the three best Western teams in the tournament.
We have every cause to trust that the bulk of the teams ought to be playing at a higher level than they did a month ago because of the fact that this is a larger tournament and the fact that they've had a month to prepare.
But we've seen, today, that Ehome is actually playing worse while CDEC is still as bad as they were before, so this lack of improvement on the side of the Chinese teams is specific to their region. One explanation is the time of the tournament - ie after new years for China - but another explanation is simply that this is the same old skill they've had since the middle of 2015, and thus it's just a return to normal after MDL, which Western teams didn't prepare for.
Whatever the case, I want to say the following: last year when they held a tournament at this time, the best Chinese team in the group was actually Xiao8's retired players team, while the Koreans were dead last in the tournament.

We see time and again that China hates losing faces. Tons of evidence of Chinese cheating when their teams are down vs. non-Chinese teams, you can easily dig these up on reddit, stuff like Chinese casters shouting out smoke ganks and rosh attempts, and Big Gods with their noise-cancelling headsets barely covering their ears against Rave back in DAC with plenty of pictures to prove it.
I am not racist just pointing out facts. How the hell can I be racist against my own race? I am a Chinese American. I am just extremely ashamed of the Chinese dota players and their willingness to cheat and their casters and community covering for them because they're the same ethnicity. Not to mention that Perfect World is doing the absolute bare-boned minimum for this event: trash audio, low video bit rate, huge down times between matches, huge delays, just reeks of unprofessionalism.
Honestly China does not deserve any direct invites next Major and TI. Give them 3 qualifier spot and make them work for it. Maybe then we'll get to see some good Chinese dota not these washed-up, has-been "legends".

Chinese people have a hard time differentiating between "r" and "w". Japanese have a hard time between r's and l's because they don't have distinct r or l but rather it's something in between the 2.
How can Chinese confuse r's and l's? They have an entire family names starting with L's!

Alliance feels like they could be anywhere. I wouldnt be too surprised if they won the whole thing (they've looked good recently), but I wouldnt be too surprised if they bombed out of group and lower bracket too (recent results could just have been a fluke since a lot of their heroes got buffed, now maybe people figured them out).

I don't really see how your ethnicity plays a factor into this. And that Reddit thread doesnt really seem to offer any concrete proof. I didnt read down to the bottom but it seems like most of the thread is actually saying they didnt cheat. Maybe you can point me to the info I'm missing.
