Linkens provide nothing much for storm except to block a spell. It is purely defensive. Shivas has its offensive uses through its slow, damage, vision etc. It is not entirely a defensive item, though it provides armour. But the point is that since storm was so ahead, it doesn't even matter if he gets hexed or shackled or abyssal'd, especially when there's grave available.

If I remember correctly, there were many Alliance fans. They were pretty cocky, then Alliance did their undefeated run in China, and many viewers became fans of Alliance. In fact, when Loda went there after TI3, his fan event was packed.
The only salt at TI3 if I recall is Tongfu being robbed of their finals by Navi's hookshot. But that caused alot of controversy on reddit as well.

But honestly though, apart from Newbie going full retard the tournament rank is pretty accurate of the present state of dota
Vici is doing decent, iG is doing okay (but honestly with their roster issue is anyone really thinking they would do well?)
