I don't think there's much valve can do to fix this particular issue, from my somewhat good knowledge about networks. A lan game exists only in the network it is created. To have access from the outside many things need to happen. A) The network's router (can be more than one depending on the network size/type) has to be configured to accept connections on a particular port and pass them onto the correct lobby host. The lobby host has to remain the same so the IP doesn't change or it has to be changed every time someone different makes the lobby. *this isn't something valve can do. every network admin has to do this by himself. B) The network needs a static IP so the casters/dotatv proxies can connect to it, without an IP they don't know where the game is. This can probably be worked over the same way source dedicated server works, where they keep pinging valve servers which can then get regular updates on the IP address. This however requires specific ports opened and kinda limits you to one server (lobby) per Public IP. | ||
