how is there axe and spiritbreaker played in the group stages
*goes to watch* Zenith of course.
Anyway from the rumours I'm gathering from reddit and joinDota, the rest of mTw have basically zoned out Synderen and do not talk to him outside of playing the game. They consider him a bad solo mid, which is his traditional lane. As a result 7ckingmad is now their drafter and 'captain'.
I personally feel Synderen is the reason that mTw were able to beat the top powerhouses in Dreamhack etc. He brought them up from a low-mid tier team to a mid-high tier team. Without him they're going to fall into obscurity again. He may not be the most individually skilled player but he has the other skills necessary to build a team.

In my opinion they should have the same setup as in the prelims: There is an official caster who is listed in the match sheet but everybody is allowed to cast. Of course having Tobi cast would most likely take away from the main stream but I did not see any ads so there was nothing to lose anyway for Valve?
Yes having all casters cast 12+ hours 3 days in a row is a good idea. Just look at how energitic casters are late at night for dreamhack sc2..
IMO this setup is really good. Seems Tobi just is being a little butthurt about not having anything to say in what he casts, while being very jetlagged.
I think Tobi has some to be butthurt about, the absolutly most popular dota caster only getting lowerbracket matches the first two days... In the only world where that makes sense is if Valve is giving the other casters screen time, until last day when Tobi gets all the finals..

I doubt Tobi or others are able to cast as per normal without his studio/home setup. I guess this is kind of Tobi's "punishment" for his group stage antics? Another possibility is that since he came late as his flight was delayed, he had very little to prepare. As a result, the Valve production guys prepared everything with the other casters first and thus the opening games were done with the other 2 pairs first. Or probably just Valve allocating Tobi for the Grand Finals. So to be fair to the other casters, they got more exposure the first 2 days.
Well, every caster is casting atleast 4 games per day, there is not really a punishment involved.

To be honest I'd be butthurt too casting aL vs Darer instead of any of the winner bracket teams but yeah :/

Yeah that is why i put it in "" And opening games /wb games are more prestigious than LB games. But then again, tobi refused to cast IG game to cast Navi/mtw so maybe that's why they gave him the LB games ( more european teams)
Although by the time he casted , it was very late at night and 90% of the crowd already went home. So maybe that's kinda disappointing for him i guess.

In the end it is as you say probably the best possible decision but I can imagine that Tobi is not the only one who wants to cast one or two more matches than planned. Might all come down to the pre-event communication of which I do not know anything.

gonna install that spectator client now. i really loved waaaghtv back in wc3 and hope this will make watching dota 2 better as well. might make the game more enjoyable for me.

Tobi then went on to say
For people who are interested, I will be the first casting team tomorrow, casting the 4 lower bracket games. Believe that is all for me So don't read to much into it.

Can we get some "Recommended Games" like in SC2 LR threads? Would greatly appreciate it!

Properly just very tired...

Ah, team drama and roster changes. I see nothing have changed over the years. I wonder why this is a problem in all western teams in every team game.

Orange vs LGD game 2.
DK vs Navi game 2 and 3.
iG vs EG all 3 games.

Of course in the morning everybody wants to cast everything, but Valve paying for the casters should ensure the best quality of the cast nomatter what the casters want.
But if they want to cast a game, they are free to do so in their spare time. The replays are free...

At esfiworld, there is a hyhy+xfreedom interview which stated that both Zenith and Navi bootcamped together with the premise of being totally open with each other( not hiding strats, simulating real game drafting and banning) because if they did meet, it will only be at WB final. And they would be happy to help each other eliminate the Chinese ( and coL)
Looks like it worked for them today.

I have liked Synderen since SECS where he co-commentated from time to time. Good player, awesome captain, I have no idea what mTw is doing.
Four of mouz' players in top 10 of most deaths and Black still managed to get into top 10 of top gpms.

Maybe in SC/CS/other team games , it is mostly a Western issue. But in China Pro Dota Scene, there is no shortage of drama / roster shuffling / betrayal/ calling each other out. It is not just a Western issue.

I can see EG getting through them tomorrow
No one thought Tongfu were dominant really. I was going with the whole "herp derp chinese team too stronk" mentality which a lot of people on TL seem to have -.- That really only applies to iG and LGD. They are too stronk and everyone at the tournament admits it, even Puppey. Won't stop Puppey from doing well vs. iG tomorrow, I imagine. He's just being humble. But yeah: On Day 1: ZOMG all the Chinese teams are gonna stomp us Day 2: Hmm it's only LGD iG and DK that are gonna stomp us Day 3: Hmm it's only LGD iG that are gonna stomp us I see a trend here. Hao being a bitch and throwing games is why Tongfu plays so bad for the most part. Still, they have come out ahead in their loser bracket match. EHOME is a relatively new team with the least experience out of everyone. Na'VI was and probably basically still is the only team that has a realistic chance (even if small) against the top 3 Chinese teams in the tournament. This was stated by everyone that knows anything about DotA. That being said, against IG they are heavy underdogs, because IG isn't going to make the same mistakes as DK did today which allowed Na'vi to win (IG for ex isn't going to donate a free game based on idiotic lane setups). Pretty much all the other EU/NA teams are getting roflstomped for the most part. EG put up some really good games today, but that was EG actually playing up to their potential for once, and that team is alot more talented than people give them credit for (Maelk, Fear, Demon, Bulba all extremely talented at their positions and Universe very good support player). Not to mention, alot of people forget that EG probably has the most experience against the Chinese teams outside of Na'vi (and to be honest, they probably have more relevant experience than Na'vi) since EG was sent to compete in G-League S3 I believe, so they actually have pretty good knowledge of the Chinese metagame. Couple that with a highly talented team when not raging, it's not that big of a surprise that EG actually put up some very competitive games. That being said, it's a "surprise" to alot of people because usually both Fear and Demon rage out in the middle of games most of the time when frustrated and just throw really hard.
iG and LGD (and the chinese in general) both look upon zenith highly to either be one of the contenders for the top prize alongside them or make it into the winner bracket finals with one of the two. the chinese forums reflect this opinion.

indeed lol. english isn't my first language so a lot of silly grammar mistakes and awkward sentences that i didn't notice when i typed them.
Can't believe in just 6+ hours, the madness will start again. I wish all Valve event staff a good night rest.
