I'll be really interested if they draft like they did in dota 2. Or if they have different strats for dota 1, but the pool is only really missing TC which is a rare pick anyway. Should be fun to watch , ain't seen any dota 1 pro games since pre dota 2 beta.
ACE League has been the closest thing to Proleague for me after I stopped watching Proleague at the start of the hybrid league.
It's been cool to watch the studio grow since the start of the season (they didn't have the booths at the start, and studio was literally being put up around the players as they played the early rounds).
So strange with other icons. I never played any dota 1, so had to open up a hero list. Picks and bans so far dont seem too far off from TI 2. Ban on tauren chieftain, no idea what he even does, and the ES pick, while no one picking morph are the only different things so far.

Really looking forward to drafts, interested if they're gonna be the same or different to dota 2.
Different, because CK sucks dick in DOTA 2 engine and Chieftan exists.
it is different draft wise. most important is leshrac and earthshaker. leshrac is far smoother in dota2 to play, while earthshaker's animations didnt improve and his attack animation in dota2 stinks, similar to CK whos animations literally didnt improve at all.
also forgot to mention SK is better in dota2 has well

All the jungle looks better imo. And you see their freaking AURAS, which you don't in dota 2. I don't understand this, really. At first I thought it just wasn't implement yet, but it seems they don't want to show the auras in dota 2 TT

They had auras for like 2 patches then removed them . Really hope they come back miss the old AC and drums aura from dota 1.

Yep. When I got my dota 2 key auras were in the game, I never understood why they suddenly disappeared.

I'm guessing they've upped the brightness for the screens onsite, because the game doesn't look that bad. ( here's someone streaming atm for example: http://www.twitch.tv/dimchen )
The general production though is amazing. Smoother than just about any other show, and that's a lot for a game that is anything but. All the graphs. The instant replay while pausing. The showing individual players with their names pop up.

Would probably have been Mjollnir if the game went longer.
Zhou opts for this BKB->Heart build because IG often picks comps that don't require him to be the primary damage dealer or need him to have the farming power of Maelstrom/Mjollnir (in this case Lycan acts as a second physical damage point, and he can safely push lanes further than DK can anyway). AC is also a good option after BKB, but given that YYF's item development was smoother, he finished AC faster than Zhou would have.
In a game with DK as primary carry, he probably would have opted for Maelstrom/Mjollnir before the Heart.
Makes me wonder why there is no major coverage of this, or Chinese dota competitions in general. Teamliquid, gg.net, joindota, shows like Lo3, talkDOTA ...

This stuff is pretty damn big.
Ya this stuff is pretty huge. Kinda sad we can't get enough coverage on Chinese Dota.

If they made the slightest effort to reach out to the audience outside of China then there would be, but that audience isn't especially big for Dota(1) so it's kinda pointless. Tobi did say that Chinese orgs have talked to them (joinDota) about work in the future, so I'm guessing this will change.

iG is on a different level in Dota 1. In Dota 2, sure, they won, but not in this lop sided way. No team is able to approach them in Dota 1 besides LGD and DK, and neither of those teams have won them in ages.
Great final rounding out a fantastic first season of the ACE league. Really looking forward to season 2.
My two real quips about the final were: - No special venue for the finals (they probably could have filled one if they got one, seeing as the tickets for the final sold out in less than 2 hours) - Bo3 finals instead of Bo5
I'm sure these will be addressed in season 2.
EDIT: Also sort of which they could have gotten a pro guest commentator like they've had at various points throughout the rest of the season (Chuan, Yao, and Sansheng have all guest-commentated at some point or another). Would have spiced up the commentary for the final.
The finals are up on this channel already, in case you missed it.
Also, the original stream (http://www.fengyunzhibo.com/tv/gtvyouxi.htm) is re-broadcasting the semi-finals LGD vs. TongFu right now. And the finals will re-broadcast in like......18 hours?

I can't find any but if I think Bballin, Lumi and LD are the few English language casters still doing Dota 1. If they make a VOD they will probably upload it to dotacommentaries. If anyone finds one, please post it or pm me so I can list in in the original post.

Dota 2 is a lot more random than DotA, and iG just won convincingly the biggest DotA and Dota2 tournaments, when china fully switches to Dota2(hopefully never) they will be even more dominating
no team in the world can match iG's skill, money won
Well when u buy the best and the second best teams in the world and then construct a new team by picking the best players from the previous teams, you tend to get a good team (provided you let them gel for a year apparently).
reminds me of good old korean broodwar matches in terms of commercials and presentations. Except I could actually understand what they're talking about, lol.

Hm, well I'll give you some hints on how to figure out the other teams, with your approach: EHOME: All of them look like prisoners. Team DK: A brownish haired guy screaming all over the stage [rOtk] coupled with "longdd"; whos apperantly the shortest proplayer I've seen. Kinda ironic. TongFu: Seem to have a girl on their team, but then it's just Hao. LGD: Handsome Yao. Nuff said. You can't ignore his sheer good looks.
