What do you guys think the odds of them making Top 2 going into the playoffs? Does it work by head to head score for tiebreakers? If it does: Situations: EG wins against alliance: - they are guaranteed first place. - if Cloud9 wins against Empire and get atleast one win vs Rox or Fnatic, they are through in second. - if Empire wins against both C9 and Rox, and Cloud9 loses against against Fnatic/Rox, Navi through in second. - if Empire wins against both C9 and Rox, and Cloud9 wins against Fnatic and Rox, three way tie for second (go to map scores?)... - If Empire lose against C9 or Rox, and Cloud9 loses to Empire, Rox, or Fnatic... Navi makes it through in second. And if it comes to mapscore in that one instance: Empire makes it through if: - They beat Cloud9 2-0 - They beat Cloud 9 2-1 and Rox 2-0 Cloud9 makes it through if: -Empire wins both games 2-1, and Cloud9 wins both games 2-0 Navi makes it through if: -Empire wins both games 2-1, and Cloud 9 wins it's other matches 2-1 Mapscore tie if: -Empire wins both games 2-1, and Cloud 9 wins one match 2-1 and the other 2-0 Edit: I don't know why I wasted so much time doing this... Edit2: Actually screw it, I've gone too far - going to go Aligulac on this and see the odds of each of them making it through. I'll give 50:50 odds to Empire beating Cloud 9, and 70:30 odds to Empire/Cloud 9 beating Rox or Fnatic. Therefore the odds of each instance happening are: 1. 45.5% 2. 17.85% 3. 17.15% 4. 19.5% If it's a map tie, the instances are: 1: 75% 2: 6.25% 3. 6.25% 4. 12.5% Therefore, the odds of each team making it out of the group stages in second place, assuming EG beats Alliance are: Cloud9: 46.57% Navi: 38.42% Empire: 12.86% Perfect Tie: 2.14% AAAND this is why you run simulations instead of solving these by hand. But, it was kind of fun doing it. | ||

Seeing as there's exactly 1 team (C9) that can tie them and hold tie break advantage over them and they are also the team that can beat them flat out on record (not counting EG who are already through) I'd say the chances are really good for Navi give that C9 is inconsistent with both empire, rox and fnatic left to play. Granted, C9 could always pull a dreamleague and beat everyone in groups but I'd still favor the chances of navi going through top 2. | ||
