Like at the moment with leshrac I have to press stun then click the location or with lightning I have to press lightning then click the target. How do I make it so that I press stun or lightning and the ability casts where I have my mouse? http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=337793 smartcasting is in there

Let's do some numbers. TA has 56 base damage + 20/40/60 damage with each level of refraction. So basically 76 damage for a large part of level 1. Batrider has 50 base damage + 10/15/20 per stack of napalm. So even with 2 stacks of napalm on the creeps, in theory she should get the denies and last hits more often than batrider. Batrider has low range (350) and bad turn speed (1.0) and a base movement speed (290) and a slow attack duration at 0.5! Meaning you are just sitting bait for psi-blade harrass. Whilst harrassment on TA would involve first knocking her towards you with flamebreak (80 mana) and for anything signification then using firefly (100 mana, 40 second cooldown) to really start making a big dent in her HP pool. Of course you can make dodging psi-blades easier by stacking napalm on them but she can just spam down the creep wave before you get a chance to get more than 2-3 stacks. And then just back till the next creep wave. Bottle control? Batrider must expend 100 mana and a 40 second cooldown spell to clear waves, TA has a passive that clears waves. I see that theoretically Batrider has good kill potential for an out of position TA at around level 4-5 even. But for a start, this requires a mistake by TA and for a second, you're most likely not at full health whilst trying to make this move and things can turn bad quickly with her meld ability and high refraction damage. It's not a huge issue as Batrider is far less item dependant than TA and hell can even stack jungle if the lane is too annoying, but I've heard a lot of pros talk of how Batrider 'shits on TA in mid'. And don't see how Batrider is supposed to do that vs a competent player. If I am missing something or someone can enlighten me on the match-up a bit more I'd appreciate it a lot. Thanks!

spam your firefly more, you should be clearing waves way faster than ta. bat clears waves in like 5 seconds; set up the fire trail, napalm twice and you can leave also if you're leaving firefly at lv1 stop doing that it's awful

You yourself are quite tanky too so it should be hard for TA to kill you even if she hits lv 6+ and you will turn out ahead (not always though) if both you and TA fight when lv 6 due to the positional advantage+disable lasso gives. You are also unnecessarily focusing on the farming aspect early game, I mean of course you are item dependent but against TA try to hinder her farming as much as possible. You will be behind if you try to compete for only last hits/denies against TA. Just simply spamming napalm and getting the stacks up should keep her away as she shouldn't even be close to you if she has like 5+ stacks.

I'm asking because Sven has 70% cleave. If I were fighting a high-armor agility hero, would it be sometimes be better to hit a low-armor support and have the high-armor hero take the cleave damage instead of directly attacking the high-armor guy?

Yes that's the ways it works and yes it is often better to cleave the support in a late game fed as shit scenario. EDIT: I mean hit the support to get the cleave damage coming from them, EDIT: cleave damage is reduced by armour TYPE though but this has no practical effect as hero damage does 100% to all sources except buildings (fortified armour) which is does 50% to.

Yep. If you ever have a situation where your cleave does more than 100% damage (such as Sven with battlefury/empower from magnus) it becomes better to target something else other than your priority target.
