Sometimes you are forced into the build you suggest, but it's really not optimal. AM is a very good early-lategame carry but he sucks if he doesn't have at least manta, and with your build I don't think you can get it before 40 minutes. | ||

There are a ton of other heroes who can buy blink and be relevant all game long. Your role as AM is really to farm hard and carry lategame. | ||

For just 700 more gold you can buy your Manta and you're a beast in fights but slower in the jungle. It's situational which one is better. | ||

Only-manta AM barely has the mana to TP+blink+manta+ulti at level 11, so you have to be at essentially 100% mana to fight with AM at that point. And while manta is easily the best cheap damage item on AM in terms of teamfight, it just doesn't make sense to build him with no mana regen items. Even in teamfights, you want to be abusing your mobility not saving up that last blink just in case. | ||

(which is 15 minutes faster than most other heroes are able to farm it) edit: basilus is not slot efficent and gives u a lot less regen than bf, you wont be able to flash farm with blink without the bf. edit2: going manta on am brings you to a dead end often, if the enemy team has any carry who is not doing this you will get stomped in pretty much every case | ||

Really, the butterfly isn't even necessary to wreck, but the heart usually is. | ||

It's kind of a joke build and I wouldn't use it in a serious game, but it can actually work nicely once you learn when to go in and when to blink the fuck out of there. I remember Wagamama doing it on his stream a few days back and stomping. | ||

The difference in "carry potential" of those other heroes doesn't mean a whole lot if AM's superior farming speed turns into an extra major item. | ||
