Well, I'm going to build how I'm going to build, because I do know what works at my MMR (always depending on lanes), but beyond recommending "Use your brain" it is important to recommend a "standard" build to people who don't have a gazillion hours of dota experience. Generally its better to recommend the pro build in that case.
Yeah, didn't really think you could buff the death ward, but it was nice to dream. Not that 240 Physical DPS @lvl 6 needs buffs (at 700 range + 300 cast range no less).
Edit: I suppose I should admit here that I'm hilariously biased towards agressive play on any hero, so all my recommendations reflect that. It is quite simply more common to have out-of-position opponents or opponents who let themselves be bullied for no reason at my MMR than it is at true high-tier play.
Double edit: high tier play does NOT mean "high" matchmaking bracket. It means Front-page matchmaking (or close).

Who needs observer wards when you can have a death ward?

This is probably in this thread already somewhere, but I was unable to find it. What is the optimal pull time for the two middle camps on the radiant side?

EDIT: oops this was a radiant-only picture. I'm bad.
Double edit: to clarify the picture, "-2s" means negative 2 seconds, AKA 28/58 seconds. (radiant hard mid pull).

Why did a set of incremental buffs to Sven in the last major patch result in him being first ban material? Did all the minor buffs together add up to a big improvement or is this a case of pros rediscovering the hero for competitive play?
|
Random guy on the internet: "h3h3 magnus + sven 120% claeve" Pros: "That's actually legit!"

Rubick steals the version of the ulti that the enemy used, i know this(for example the amount of souls SF used will be used for rubick's stolen version too)
But what if you steal DK stun while he's in dragon form after he used it? Will it remain long range or just be short-range constantly?

Many different factors- Top carries from previous patch getting nerfed
- Change in playstyle from 4 protect 1 to very aggressive ganking lineups
- Sven buff
- Synergy with other great picks (Magnus/BH/etc)
- Flexibility (Sven can be played as practically any position)

The thing is, the playstyle we saw at dreamhack was anything BUT very aggressive ganking lineups. Sven is still not first pick / ban material in China, where the playstyle early on is more aggresive, while the playstyle throughout the midgame might stall due to good teamfight picks. I suspect China will gladly give sven to us/eu teams and show them why they're overrating the hero.

why do some ppl have their K/D and CS in the top right corner and some in the lower right corner? and how do i change that?
|
1. How does experience from killing neutral creeps work? Suppose I pull a camp and my creeps kill a neutral, but I missed the last hit. Do I still get xp? What if there is an invisible enemy bounty hunter nearby? Does he get xp if I miss the last hit?
2. Why do some melee carries go battlefury (am/pa/void/jug) and others go hand of midas (doom, naix, sometimes void/jug)? I understand crit + cleave is nice, but then why don't void/am go midas? And since doom will probably grab an alpha wolf in midgame, why doesn't he go battlefury? I've gotta be missing something here.

It has to do with monitor resolutions and proportions. 16 : 9 monitors have it bottom right, 16:10 resolutions have it top right.
If, for example, you had a 1080p monitor, you could run it at 1680X1050 to simulate 16:10 and get the numbers at the top, but then you would have (smal) black "dead spots" around your visible area.

AM goes Bfury so that he can clear lanes + jungles as fast as possible, and to sustain his mana for much blinking from camp to camp in the jungle. Void is similar, including needing the mana to blink around in the jungle, but some voids opt for a midas. Void does benefit from the Bfury cleave in chrono if he can hit it right. PA really doesn't go BFury in pro games, although the idea is that it also helps sustain her spells and lets her wipe creep waves.
Doom doesn't need a bfury because midas and devour end up leaving creep camps with 1~2 creeps anways, so no need for cleave, plus he has his aoe ability that lets him clear stacks/creep waves if necessary. The cleave is especially useless on Doom because he also has no particular positioning abilities to make it useful in teamfights. Naix doesn't use a bfury because it is really non-synergistic with his main damage dealer (his passive). Without his passive, naix really doesn't hit hard, so cleaving those hits is not all that great. And he also has absolutely 0 use for the HP regen from a bfury.
In general, midas lets you Guarantee a reasonable level of farm, even if you get ganked/have to teamfight/aren't really farming. Bfury is very much an investment in 10 (or more) more minutes of dedicated, unmolested free farm. Some heroes tailor themselves better to one or the other. AM couldn't care less about midas, because he simply farms faster with a Bfury, which also gives him more dmg and is more slot efficient, and he sure as hell is going to be farming. Naix desparately needs the attackspeed from midas, and is often all over the map midgame making his presence felt, not ricing as hard as possible.

It is based on which team gets the kill. If you pull a creep camp and the creep is killed by you or your creeps then every hero within range on that team will get experience. The invisible enemy bounty hunter will not get experience when your creep or you get the last hit because he is not on your team. If the bounty hunter gets the last hit then his team will get the experience instead.
