Ok, so Liqud had a bad day, we all could see this. But I believe that Kuro and the boys can learn from their mistakes. All of them have experience, so they will get their shit together, calm their heads and start stomping. I don't know if it was the pressure, or IG simply played out of their minds; Probably both, but that doesnt matter. What's good is that it happens now, at an early stage, so Liquid can evaluate their mistakes and hopefully learn from them. I don't believe it's over. But it's really important that their next 1st game goes reaaaaally well so they have the moral boost to continue stomping.

I don't even think there were a lot of comfort heroes per se.
MK and Ember for Miracle?
Weaver on Matumba?
Visage on gh?
Void on MC?

I guess there were some signature picks in there, but overall it felt like something was missing.

Learn from it - own LB - win TI.

I still have faith for the team but it all depends on Kuro not getting blatantly outdrafted.

Yesterday was a sad day for Kuro. For the couple months he has been on point with drafts.

Mainstage pressure eats him alive?

I can not imagine pressure gets to you while drafting. Kuro is to chill for that;)
We know that kuro sometimes drafts weird shit, that is nothing new. I wish them good luck today, they still can do this.

Who knows, maybe they wanted to kind of surprise the opponents with drafts, which are not so typical for them, but it backfired. Anyway, what is sure is that they did not play in their comfort zone, so they have to adress their issue. If they pick comfortable heroes, i don't really see what can stop them.

I'm not really comfortable criticizing drafts (they didn't look good to me, but I'm sure there was a plan in there), but I'd at least like them to not make so many mechanical mistakes. Game 3 would definitely have been winnable, if not outright won, without unforced individual mistakes, miscasts, slow reactions, etc.

Possibly game 1 as well, I don't think they were as far behind early as Lumi insisted they were, but the decision to stick around and fight after popping aegis on Alch + getting unnecessarily caught one by one after a lost fight several times.

I saw G1
And yeah they were thrown off-guard
Went for 3 very much signature comfort picks
1 Cancer combo (weaver+visage) where weaver is great vs bat in lane

But they got completely out - strategised: night stalker made tusk useless
AA Alch stop push in it's track
Bat+AA shat on Bristle all game long
And it allfell apart

That's why Kuro went to try different stuff
That's why they tilted near the end - just didn't handle the pressure, got caught off guard by iG

Mind control play very poorly again especially on game 3 vs IG. Either that or Kuroky poorly drafted 3 melee damage dealer into chrono which is pretty questionable.

It is awful draft when you don't have ranged heroes to dish out dmg to chrono BUT MC didn't get off even 1 good chrono during the game.

He was also absymal in game 1.

It was almost impossible to have a good chrono without having at least 1 teammate in it as well. MC didn't take risks, but we couldn't blame him for that. Had he played perfectly, maybe they could have won the game, but you can't really expect perfect.

Regarding game 1 however, i agree. He fed quite much on the bot lane in the first couple of minutes, which made a recovery later quite impossible (also no stacks at all).

Overall, i think that gh, Kuro and MC had no synchron in the games and that is basically what lost them the games. (and of course a couple mistakes from Matu and Miracle, but probably from the tilt-factor)

I really hope mind control doesn't fuck this up in lower bracket. Out of thread's context, XSS was legit. His sand king and earthshaker were top notch. Wish mind control learn a thing or two from this guy.

XSS got SK and Eartshaker versus melee cores and little to no lane pressure, MC would also go off in those lanes.

Let's take a look what it takes for a chrono to be good that game:

1. MC needs to catch heroes on the edges of the chrono because they have no ranged damage.
2. He can't catch any of his own heroes in the chrono despite slardar, ember and lone druid generally being in the middle of the fray.
3. He somehow needs to catch a 600+ range Lina in his Chrono or else she will delete him.
4. Earth Spirit can boulder smash through the chrono to keep Void from dealing damage, Eartshaker can throw fissure in to control him, Disruptor can glimpse the Void back out of his chrono or ult on top, Sven can stun him from outside the chrono. In short all their heroes can interact from outside the chrono.
5. They need to deal damage to the targets caught on the edge of chrono with their melee heroes for ice blast to shatter them without grouping up to get hit by stormhammer, lsa, fissure, enchant totem, echo slam, boulder smash, geomagnetic grip, magnetize, kinetic field, static storm.

Also lastpicking Ember Spirit into an Earthshaker lane and a lineup with 5 stuns glimpse static storm, geomagnetic grip, laguna blade and god strength. He couldn't pressure the earthshaker resulting in a 12 minute blink dagger that dunked on them all game and he had to build all defensive items to do little damage and still be an easy pickoff.
I think esports is pretty nice.

A little late to the party, had to work, but wanted to get into the discussion

First game was maybe an outdraft... there was nothing too special about it.
The Second map ... man, that was art! Tell me: How many team are going highground during that phase of the game with basically TI on the line? They knew exactly what they can do! These decisions will be important later on!
The third game was Lina ... not the hero in itself, but I clearly remember three of the first chronos: first big team fight, MC catches two but Lina is just outside and rains hell on void and the rest. Then on top lane; yeah, Void catched GH in the chrono, but more important: Lina, AGAIN just outside the chrono and just kills everything! And Third in the middle, where Lina had clairvoyance or something and stunned the "trees" with void in them; so I lied, because there was actually no third chrono at that point. So with a little bit more "luck" or positioning of chronos this would have been a very different game!
Secret has a mountain to climb!

We beat secret pretty convincingly in the groups, so i doubt we will have problems this time. Lets hope they are tilt free today, and kuro drafts well;)
