Very good move to be honest. Filling the sub role with coach gives players & fans assurance that they will remain together (unlike previous EG squads which I think were majorly PPD's decisions).
Anyway, their results also seem very good so no problem in that aspect also. Looks like a great YOUNG squad in the making for a longer run. Something that is rare these days.

I don't really understand why people are making a number out of this Fear as sub thing. If you don't register a sub for the major you are screwed if someone suddenly falls terribly ill or whatever. And Fear is going with them anyway since he is the coach, so obviously he is going to be the sub.

EG is already the strongest western team so far. OG doesn't look very strong now. s4 is struggling in position3, he's not playing comfortable, anna is a little bit inconsistent. Liquid looks the same way, miracle didn't have enough support.

china is the strongest region indeed but i still think EG is the best team atm.ehome is definetly one of the strongest china teams and from the draft it looks like EG didnt study them at all.if they played again at some point im not sure that EG would lose again.not to take credit from ehome they are very strong atm

I don't think they played bad. May be SB a little but he did well early game. They were just out-drafted with Treant. Any other hero & EG would have got lot more pick-offs mid-game, stalled the game enough to win with an Alchemist.

it was 1 game, best of 1 is rough, especially vs a team that takes games off you and that you probably scrim vs. Last series, best of 5 grand finals, EG beat NP 3-1, but dropped the first game. Best of ones are rough, though NP is on fire today. Don't despair too much about EG's new line up.

Yea the bo1 lower bracket format was quite unfortunate, I guess they didn't really have a choice if they can only play 1 dota game Sunday instead of the normal lb final + grand final.

Quite possible that EG could have come back but that said despite EG winning all 3 series against NP online all of them were quite competitive. The bo5 was very close to going to a game 5, in elimination mode NP was close to taking it in the final game, and the deciding game in the first Dotapit series wasn't a a complete rollover either. Seems to me like the matchup is relatively close atm.

I didn't see the EHOME series yet so not sure how EG looked there.
