Pretty impressive victory too, im sure this Newbee roster will give alot of problems to pretty much any team out there and we beat them very nicely 3-1 in the finals. Will be good if they keep this level of Dota up and improve, every player is so versatile it makes for any draft at all which is the key for me. Rtc can pretty much carry on any character, Suma1l can play anything mid, Unigod anything offlane and then the two supports can do everything as well, from Wisp to Naga, great stuff!
Now they are going to play a few online matches in DreamHack tournament thing, then from there be the road to Boston. I guess we probably will get seeded directly to Group Stages due to 3rd in TI6 even though it 2 new people? Considering the invites will be announced in the next three weeks and there isn't really much dota going on, I think it's pretty safe to assume we'll get invited because of our showing at MDL.

i don't know from what context you heard/found it but as I understand it's from some parody rapper's youtube videos.
RTZ disses his new rap on stream, "this sucks, where's para kim?" para kim being the usual Asian rap buddy for the guy.
the guy actually responds with a diss track on RTZ featuring para kim who is constantly heard inserting himself in the song with "RTC? TI5?" or it sounds like a "C".

Actually it was from a game where a guy, I think South American, said "RTC? TI5?" after he lost TI5 and in that particular game had just died badly. Then twitch spammed it to make it a meme cos it was funny and the guy kept saying it whenever rtz made a mistake.
Source: was in twitch chat when it happened.

Just finished watching True Sight, highly recommend watching it, very very good insight into what goes on. Watching coach fear was great and seeing what they get up to before a lan and during it was great.

For the bros that didnt read Xz's translated interview on the first page, he had some words on the new EG squad:
"As for overseas teams, I haven’t met them much this year* so I have little knowledge about them, but I am a fan of Zai! He’s low-key but very strong. I still know EG’s line-up very well and think their position 1 and 2 are very unpredicable. After all every person who made to 9K has what it takes. I actually watched RTZ’s first person view. His style is very farming-intensive and doesn’t care about what’s happening to the team whatsoever. But he’s very slick in the details. Under-performance in big tournaments only says that his style is incompatible with the team meta right now. Their Position 3 is world-class. Not really the best in the world** but his main strength is consistency. Their support duo is the strongest and most invincible [sic]. Cr1t was OG’s second carry. Zai is a top-class player on every position. If nothing surprising happens they have locked a Top 3 spot in TI7 on paper."
Xz was offlane player on the CDEC squad we beat in the GF of TI5, now captain and support player on LGD.

Think more of a proper series tonight though, 21:00 start for me hmm will try and catch as much as possible, hope for a swift start.

Yeah, todays series is gonna be more of a challenge I guess. CoL didnt look very well yesterday tho, managed to catch quite a few CoL series lately and theier new carry Justin/jk hasnt rly been showing alott of good play imo. Expecting a 2-0 victory from EG, but probably with a little more challenge then the series yesterday.

A very impressive g1 from EG, dumpstering NP from start too end. Love the way they play right now, alott of action packed games. They are not the same "economic" EG as we are used to, this team does not back down from a fight, and atm they are fighting so good! Hope they keep this up in g2.
Edit: Guess I jinxed that game, sry guys on to g3!

I agree, great games from EG again. Drafts are good, teamfights are good, still some experimenting with lanes but for the most part very good. I think most teams will be afraid to meet EG atm, they are so versatil and all the boys are great individual players.
I dont agree with the carry Veno tho, Its quite strong in most cases, but a carry Cent might be the best answere with his hp pool, natural pipe builder and Stampede. The thing is, if we first face Veno, we might force enemy to picking Cent, and we can still adjust and put Veno as support knowing that a Cent is now in the game on safelane or offlane, its a strong advantage to have in a draft.
PPD also did this alott, overpicking alott of heroes to make them first ban material against EG, wich again gives us an advantage in drafts, right now we focuse on picking Io, Veno and Warlock alot in the first face of the draft. As we are winning most games, other teams dont seem to have a good solution to it yet. Gonna be exciting to see how this unfolds on a LAN

recently what you described with the centaur into veno support thing happened, i'm not sure if you saw the game or not. the lanes were very weird, the game played out very weirdly, and the only certainty in that game was that EG needed to stall and let their AM win the game for them.
veno support i have to say is quite weak in pro-games IMO. can't pressure with wards since low on levels and by the time you can, the wards are less of an issue for cores, so basically you're the setup for laning kills with gale and that is the most impact it can have.
if i had to compare the mindgame picks of centaur vs veno turned into support after the drafting table is set, 1 for 1, i believe the cent offers much more. obviously it would depend on what they force the centaur for and the other matchups or combo potential.
SD, oracle, dazzle, WW supports allow for specialist safelane carries to come online and have a chance in the games. veno support does not do that. it soaks up XP, money, jungle, and returns all of that in some extra damage and a couple utility items, granted the kiting potential is definitely there.
so from my recent experience, and i love the hero, the veno core thing is just a niche thing while teams aren't playing well against it and are still figuring something out, like with cent as you said. the problem is you need to run cent core for that. i would not expect veno to be anywhere in the game after this tourney concludes. there's no reason to play that mindgame, unless it's just to draw focus away from the other hero combinations that set the pace of the game.
but i think it's very strong in pubs or coordinated stacks. it doesn't even need to be core but arteezy or EG decides to do it anyway. you take a tower early (taking over the lane solo) and apply pressure to the t2 forcing only the strongest heroes or disabling duos to come over and finally stop the pressure. by that time your team gets its way or you can just tp the veno to another lane with items and take that tower too, much like drow, except if you engage on him and eat spells, it's pretty lopsided and controls the map and vision very easily. basically, a do-it-all hero, until bkbs finally hit the deck, or opponents react properly.
if you've played or seen a veno core game, they actually end between 20 and 30 minutes. the best i've gotten is shy of 18m, playing just like a drow game but in some ways (individually) the hero offers more control, is easier, and in some ways farms to items faster.
i think the drafting style works on paper, but a much more creative team (like Wings) can ignore it completely and play what they want.

Yeah, I saw the game, and they lost the game too, and adjustet the draft to game 2, with the same opening having a lv 5 jungle veno at 5 mins (zai support) almost just winning the game right there. They are obv still experimenting, but they seem to learn and adjust with every game they play, and it seems to gett better and better. Im happy they had so many games against NP, as EE rly is a tryhard watching replays and thinking of drafts nonstop. NP is a good oponent to have for EG at this stage.

I do not know this good news or not, certainly EG is now very competitive with RTZ which is matched with our current squad. RTZ is different from that first EG after winning TI, he learned to be a lot more position player number 1.
