EG v Secret tonight!! get hype!
|
Thats gonna be fun, in my biased opinion EG has looked a little better, but I think this is gonna be a good and close match. Looking forward to it

I feel like EG has won most of their games because of their ridiculous individual skill and not because of great teamplay or the great coordinated team fighting EG is/was known for under ppd. But then again, EG always looks a bit shaky on the first day of a tournament so it might just be that. Regarding the match versus Secret, I think EG will win but I predict a competitive series resulting in a 2-1 win for the boys. Will be fun to see how both teams draft, as both teams prioritize similar heroes.

Yeah they defo have won games on generally Rtc getting ridiculously farmed (aka slark game) or some crazy plays from Universe coming out. But what i have noticed and liked outside of team fighting is the fact Rtc and Suma1l are getting farm and doing it well. It seems the lanes are prioritised for them and Unigod gets his farm from the Jungle. However this would seem to open up alot of chance to lose the laning stage but they have bossed that pretty much all games too.
I do concede the team fighting hasn't been amazing yet or not as good as PPD team fighting, but everything else looks very good.
EG vs Secret tonight gonna be a good test of Cr1t captaincy more than anything i feel. Squad wise its a fair fight but Puppey has alot on Cr1t as captain so gonna need seem him step up and some nice drafts. They win this series i have them winning the whole thing :D

One advantage this version of EG has for a while is that teams have spent 3 years learning to face up against ppd-led teams. It was only from Shanghai and on that teams really had figured out an approach that could work consistently. Granted, you normally had to utterly out execute EG, still, but there was an approach that was strong. So there'll be some time before other teams can figure out the current EG's approach.
I would favor EG over Secret in the first go around, but we'll see. Two good drafts and Secret could win easily.

Wonder if we're gonna see an axe ban versus EG
|
Yet another top 3 for EG. I agree with everyone saying they are mostly winning off a combination of individual skill and overall strategy rather than team coordination, but I think that means they have a lot of potential to grow together.
|
Well this was a slaughter, the cohesion in the draft didn't work which didn't happen much in PPD times And when Newbee matched their individual skill EG was no match for them.
Long way to go for Cr1t to become a top captain/drafter
EDIT: Although SCC made Suma1l look silly, Razor isn't exactly a Sumail hero. And we have to commend EG for not sticking to comfort picks right off the bat and relying on pure skill. Perhaps it's better if they have volatile results while trying out stuff and then having multiple strategies when it comes to really important matches like Major Playoffs then if they keep doing great right off the bat and get figured out. Just hope their mental game can take it.

That showing from Newbiee snd Sccc... just what we need, now the boys see were the bar is at. This team wants to be the best, give some time.

Yeah we got a bit bossed today. Slark games from Rtc just never reached level he needed to be to do big damage, wonder if there could have been different carries for him in that game that might have worked better. Oh well they still playing ok, lets hope they beat down OG again to see a bo5 vs newbee.
|
Yeah Newbee was without a doubt the better team today, but damn Sccc put on a show. That really was a treat to watch, not even mad that he singlehandedly made us look like a bunch of amateurs in the last fight of game 2. I know KDA is not a really important stat but Sccc had a 23.5 KDA in the series against EG, thats just bonkers. The rest of the team obviously played great as well but I'm just a sucker for flashy mid-laners who make jaw dropping plays. Newbee is probably one of the few teams that can match us in terms of raw individual skill and today they showed us what is possible when you have so much talent on your team. I hope we can bounce back against OG and we'll hopefully put up more of a fight against Newbee, if we get another shot. But all in all I'm very happy with the performance of our boys so far, future looks bright!

When in the professional game of dotka zwei does THAT happen rather than teams just shuffling every roster period?

Perhaps PPD's tweet about "the hand that feeds" was actually about artour's mouse hand, since it delivered his hero so skillfully into newbee's clutches those last two games

Gonna quote myself here from when EG beat OG

Give Cr1t chance to replicate PPDs patented drastic improvements in draft and strategy the more game he plays vs an opponent. His drafts were shit vs Newbee last series, I can't see him giving Sumail razor to get clowned on by SCcc invoker for one Win or lose, their drafting seems very PPD-esque in terms of large adjustments between series.
The team has balls and not afraid to dabble into some fresh drafting, clap clap clap

Really happy for the boys, well deserved win. We really stepped it up in the grand finals, I liked the drafts and the execution today. Especially happy for Cr1t-, I mean being a new captain and all it must be so rewarding to lead your team directly to their first lan victory. I just hope we don't become super dominant, the super dominant teams always seem to fail when it really matters. But besides that it's great to prove the haters wrong and silence our critics (at least for a little while). Arteezy and SumaiL also seem to be on track to become the amazing duo core that everyone feared they'd become a year ago. Zai and Cr1t- as a support duo could become the spiritual successor of fy and fenrir, who were the backbone of the success of Vici Gaming during their period of dominance. Anyway great first tournament, Dreamleague next!

Nice games from EG! congrats on the first LAN victory

Good games, and good drafts! I think they all played rly well, lotts of funny drafts, trying out a bunch of heroes. And it looks like they are all having fun while playing, wich I think is important for this team. Excited for the times ahead Bleed Blue~

1 Lan - 1 Victory. Pretty impressive victory too, im sure this Newbee roster will give alot of problems to pretty much any team out there and we beat them very nicely 3-1 in the finals. Will be good if they keep this level of Dota up and improve, every player is so versatile it makes for any draft at all which is the key for me. Rtc can pretty much carry on any character, Suma1l can play anything mid, Unigod anything offlane and then the two supports can do everything as well, from Wisp to Naga, great stuff!
Now they are going to play a few online matches in DreamHack tournament thing, then from there be the road to Boston. I guess we probably will get seeded directly to Group Stages due to 3rd in TI6 even though it 2 new people?

Someone explains this rtc thing to me.
