Ok, two weeks in. Let's look at the standings!
WEU: Secret/Nigma in the bottom... probably not many expected that! On the other end: Liquid look very strong! Nisha was an incredible addition!
EEU: BetBoom did a good "switcheroo"! Now the team to beat! Together with Spirit. Navi and VP would probably like to win a bit...
China: Aster playing very well! And aside from the 0:x teams it looks quite close! Will be interesting, who drank too much in their new-year
SEA: Fnatic is definitely underperforming. A surprise is Geek Slate; coming from Div2 but currently crushing it! But a lot can happen there!
NA: Well, Dendi, that looks not good for your "American Dream"... On top not much happening. I would be very surprised if TSM and Shopify(old EG) will not make pos 1/2!
SA: (new)EG is doing well in the south. Probably the "grudge match" against beastcoast on the last day. Also I should look at Alliance, if they can keep their Div1 spot.... not watching much from there...

Secret just one series away of being relegated. Must win series againt ITB otherwise they are guaranteed out of Div1 and to add some spice, Puppey can Kuro take down with him in their last series(if Nigma is not relegated already by then).
|
Ammar in full tilt mode. Jesus, pls get rid of him right away. Miracle can play with his hands tied on his back better than this. Div2 incoming, dont see them winning any series.
EDIT: Game 2 they were stomping. Sumail with the heavy lifting on Leshrac and still Nigma is one of the few teams which can make Io work.

Quite funny that nigma was able to beat their long time rivals. They still have a decent shot at avoiding relegation. I’m surprised that ammar hasn’t really worked out on carry so far, but the season is still young.

The difference between earlier iterations of Nigma and this one is that their laning phase is top notch. Very often in the past, they had to play the catch-up game because one or two of their cores were underfarmed. During the whole DPC-tour, they came out of the laning stage ahead or at least even(except 2nd game against Liquid), but afterwards it felt like they did not know what to do next. My concern is still that they fully rely on Suma1l crushing his lane and run rampant around the map, this can be easily exploited by the better teams.
The storyline is insane. After ending Puppeys TI-run in 2017,2018 and 2019, Kuro can now pushing Secret to Div2.

Both SR and TSM locked in for the Lima Major, last series will decide which of these two teams remains undefeated in this DPC season

Interestingly, in the past that was actually one of their strong features. If they can keep up their early game and step up their mid/late game ... they could be very scary!
|
Ok, WEU is still playing Tiebreakers... so not finished. Liquid still looking really good. If they keep their skill up, they are a high contender for the major! Nigma barely made the cut and ... well, Secret to Div2! Not expected as said!
EEU: BB and Spirit are on top. They also gave us some really entertaining maps in their game! Here, Navi to Div2 is probably the surprise!
China: Started their last week! Let's see if Knights and LGD are keeping their spots with Aster.
SEA: Geek Slate did it; from Div2 to Major! Well played! On the other side: BOOM and Fnatic dropping down. BOOM won the last Div1 season... seems their "new team" does not click yet!
NA: TSM and Shopify("EG") are at the Major. That was somehow expected! I did not expect that B8 actually survived and are still Div1!
SA: "new EG" and beastcoast made it. The 4-way-tie for points was won by Alliance! Nice to see this team with a bit of impact again! Not sure if they can deal with the top two the next seasons...

Those WEU tiebreakers were really something, happy for Tundra and Entity!
|
The difference in both games were the support-duo...Taiga and especially Misha felt really underwhelming with nearly no impact compared to their counter-parts.
Wondering if OG is considering to replace Misha with Chu or Ceb is making his return.
