I think what they are saying is that they agree the team did match fixing. They just want the Newbee brand to be unbanned, not the players.

Ah OK I understand, they just want the players banned.

That makes sense, honestly try to imagine the sheer shitshow it would be, if an organizaiton actively endorsed match fixing

Not sure Newbee as such was involved but the team management should have been aware that something was wrong after such performance.
Also remember reading this on reddit www.reddit.com it's uncomfirmed so take it with a grant og salt.

Well, given that this is a ban for match fixing in a Valve game, they presumably have a bright future ahead of them of streaming, coaching for T1 teams, returning to play in tournaments when other organizations arbitrarily declare that they won't enforce the punishment anymore, and eventually joining top-tier organizations as competitors in other games altogether to accolades and fanfare, having learned no lesson at all.

Of course they are, all of Chinese tournaments are fixed. This is a tip of an iceberg.

I’ve been reading stuff how Chinese scene is chock full of match fixing. No reliable sources ofc, just twitter comments and what not. Though it’s not hard to believe.
